Timber Creek Hotel

Very very small rooms, with a double bed and little else. Great outside area with small creek, croc feeding, Daryl the Donkey. Food was very average in restaurant and not good in the takeaway area. Fresh sandwiches weren't fresh and when you ask them to toast them, they come out worse.

We loved all the greenery at this rest stop, unfortunately staff allocated a very dry dirt / stoney spot for us to put up our tent. It made it near impossible to peg in. Once we finally got it up we took a walk around the area. There is a beautiful boab tree near the creek. The women's amenities block was new and clean. A perfect example of what all amenity blocks should look like. There was excessive noise at night when glass bottle/ can recycling was processed.

The 'pod' I stayed in was clean, bed was comfy and even though a King single it was big enough for one night. It was very small but has what you need. Yes there are bats and yes they poo, I have them where I live and just wash it off. Nature was here before humans. Considering you're out in the middle of nowhere, it was a pretty good deal. The restaurant food was good and the staff were friendly. The little shop came in handy and had a good range of products. There are signs of age in areas but it wouldn't be easy or cheap to get people out to upgrade and modernise. I would be more than happy to stay again if ever out that way.
