Hotel Eklips

Se avete idea di andarci ….. meglio dormire in macchina!! La camera 310 allucinante: 2 grandi vetrate con una tenda che oscura di più se non la tiri, rumori dell’autostrada che ti sembra passi in camera…letto incommentabile, doccia e servizi idem! Potrei scrivere un libro sulle poche ore che ho trascorso lì…piscina esterna acqua verde….colazione con 10 metri di bancone con un distributore di corn flake e 5 tazzine da caffè senza macchinetta!! Ho scritto al direttore e non si è degnato di rispondere: questo il testo: Dear Director, I hope you agree that the room you gave us, number 310, is in a deplorable state, and allow me to explain: The shower is broken, I won’t even comment on the shower curtain, the sheets are wet, the window curtains let in light instead of keeping it out, and as for the sauna, I have no idea how it can even be called that. The outdoor pool has green water… There is trash everywhere—plastic, cigarettes… You advertise Wi-Fi, but there’s no signal in the room, and we barely get any if we step outside the door! Shall we talk about breakfast? The counter had 4 or 5 coffee cups and half a dispenser of cornflakes. I asked for a simple croissant… nothing; a toast? Also nothing… all of this for €10!! The only positive note is that the staff seemed embarrassed by the situation. Of course, I have documented everything with photos, and needless to say, we will not be staying there tonight! If you agree with what I’ve said, I hope you will refund me the money via bank transfer (IBAN IT………………….at this stage, I am not asking for any additional compensation. Best regards, NULL”ALTRO DA AGGIUNGERE!!!

Het management gaf aan dat Misk recent een nieuwe eigenaar heeft. Hiervoor heette het hotel kennelijk Eclips. Pluspunten zijn de ligging en het grote zwembad. Het ligt direct naast de snelweg en op 15-20 minuten rijden van het centrum van Tirana. Dichtbij het hotel is de TEG, een zeer grote shopping mall. Ook ben je vrij snel bij de luchthaven. Het zwembad is zeer groot met een leuke glijbaan voor de kinderen. Het oogt niet heel hygiënisch (troebel water en korrelige bodem) en de ligstoelen zijn wat gammel. De kamers zijn echt aan een restyling toe. De badkamer is niet schoon met schimmels en de kamer zelf is ook wat onfris. Op onze kamer was nog een scheermesje van een vorige gast achtergebleven. Het ontbijt daarentegen is goed en ruim, eigenlijk zoals we op de hele Balkan hebben gezien. Als de eigenaar dit hotel weet op te knappen, wordt het misschien wel een aanrader.

Breakfast in Albania is nothing to write home about but at Hotel Eklips we've reached the low point: bread, jam full of sugarbits, poor juice, no fruit cold eggs and last but not least...no coffee....you can ask for coffee and they will bring a tiny cup of espresso 10 minutes later. The rooms are not clean and neither are the bathrooms. The fridge is not clean. The noise from the highway is not blocked out - the windows and doors are not soundproof. But the pool and the slide are great for children!
