We booked at the Super Hotel Ueno from Jun 19 to Jun 23. We, 2 persons, were assigned to a very small room, so my friend decided to stay in another room, costs another $8000 yen in cash only payment. Luckily, we can stay on the same floor (6th).
On Jun 23, 2025, our checkout day morning, we request to have late check out from 10am to 11am, and the receptionist requested all guests need to fill up the questionnaire or there will be a charge per room. We follow to fill in the form even though we believe one form should be sufficient. No one informed us that the only evelator will have maintenance from 11am to 2pm. So when we left the room to the elevator, the housekeeping informed us that we needed to hand carry all languages to the lobby by using the staircase due to the elevator maintenance and no luggage service was being offered. Under this circumstance, we just carried our suitcases to the lobby by ourselves. It really hurt my back as its triggered my lower back pain for the remaining Japan trip. I feel very upset about this service level that I have never experienced before when I traveled in Japan.
