PROS :Location great, building great, lovely comfy beds, nice complimentary shower gels and lotion.food was OK buy be aware if you have an allergy asked for no mushrooms and it came with mushrooms !!! CONS: housekeeping is very poor dust and cobwebs over all the pictures light fittings and furniture in the communal.areas, our room was thick with dust and cobwebs the shower wouldnt drain as it was clogged with thick hair and mouldy shower gel, toilet didn't flush fully, toilet roll was basically.non existent only a part roll was left. Showed the photos to managent and asked them to rectify whilst we had dinner on returning to our room. Only the headboard and shower trap had been dusted the rest of it stayed for the duration of the weekend ! Disappointing to say the least when you are paying over £100 a night for a room.

Grossly overpriced. A Ploughman’s sandwich containing about 2 ounces of ham a very thin slice of cheese and a “wad” of celeriac mayo between two ultra thick slices of very tough. bread for £10 is crazy let alone the service charge on top. That with three other sandwiches two spritzers and two beers for £96 yes £96 is crazy

Excellent stay. We were made most welcome when we arrived and had a fabulous time. The staff are the friendliest we've ever experienced. Food was delicious on both nights and there was a good choice at breakfast. Highly recommend it to others. Special mention to Assistant Manager Henry. He runs a very good team. They all seem to be able to do everyone else's tasks. Very well organised establishment.

Can’t fault the quality of the rooms, beds, facilities, food or the staff! All of a high standard & presented with a smile Plenty of parking & attractive outdoor areas. The one ‘gripe’ was the noise when other guests returned via the ‘out of hours’ stairs.

Excellent peaceful location, lovely big rooms with large bathroom including a bath. If I want to be picky there was a lot of dust behind bedside cabinets and on top of sockets. Evening meal very good as was the bar service, nice evening to sit outside in the garden area.Breakfast also very good.

Clean room with free coffee, tea and hot chocolate. no problem and as advertised. Nice staff and good choice of breakfast including full English porridge eggs or toast with choice of teas and coffees. all good from check in to check out. Very happy

We stayed at the Carpenters Arms as a stopover on our way home to Devon following a family funeral in Tonbridge. We couldn’t fault the stay; very comfortable room , good shower , friendly helpful staff and an excellent huge breakfast that set us up for the long drive home.Didn’t need to eat again till the evening!
