"We had an exceptional stay at Ananea Resort Tropea from start to finish. The service was outstanding, with incredible attention to every detail that made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our stay. The breakfast was one of the highlights—an amazing variety of fresh, delicious options with personalized service that made each morning special. The beautiful, spa-like pool was the perfect place to relax, and the attentive poolside service made it even more enjoyable. The location is excellent, with just a short walk up the stairs into the charming historic centre of Tropea. We also appreciated the complimentary shuttle service to both the town and the beach, which made getting around effortless. Tropea itself exceeded all of our expectations, and we can’t wait to return.A great place for both couples and families. A special thank you to Matteo and Nicoletta for your outstanding service, kindness, and helpfulness. You truly made our vacation memorable. We had a wonderful time and look forward to coming back! "I very much enjoyed my recent stay at this hotel, except for a couple issues that I mentioned to the team. The property itself is beautiful, with clean and quiet rooms, and a great location only about 15/20 minutes (walking) into town (although maybe not to walk at night given there aren't sidewalks or walking lanes). The food was fantastic - especially the breakfast with multiple options to choose from each morning. Thanks to Emma and Maria for always being so kind and welcoming. I appreciated the attention to my dietary needs as well. They were excellent. I loved the pool. At first, given that it wasn't very large I wasn't sure it would be so peaceful with other guests there as well. But, I luckily had it all to myself for a few hours on a couple days. Swimming and smelling the lovely flowers was just what I needed. The hotel also overlooks their farm or garden, and they use the produce in their kitchens. You can walk down from the hotel through it to get to the beaches. It's a bit strenuous to walk back up, so maybe see about a shuttle. I was concerned about a hygienic issue that occurred in the dining area one evening, which I expressed to the team, so hopefully it has been addressed. Thanks to Sara, Camilla, Catia, Deborah and Michela. There were a few instances where I wasn't sure if my questions or concerns were being disregarded, but I think it was more a matter of the language barrier. Couple things to note: -The private car transfer from the Lamezia Terme train station is 120 euros. -They do offer laundry services for a cost. -I had some trouble with receiving a response via email before I arrived. I had to ask their sister hotel to help with the connection. Then everything went smoothly. Overall, a lovely stay."

"The hotel I stayed at this time was the best value hotel I stayed at during this trip. The decoration was simple, practical and brand new, with high-quality and tasteful materials. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, the restaurant staff were polite and enthusiastic, and the receptionist was warm and attentive, patiently answering all kinds of questions. It was a very satisfactory stay."

"We decided to leave late, and among the available accommodations, we chose the Danidea residence. As soon as we entered the room, there was a musty smell, but the worst thing was finding the toilet dirty. We immediately reported it, and they came to clean it, apologizing for the inconvenience. Later, we noticed that neither the TV nor the safe were working, which we also reported, but this time no one came to fix them. Breakfast at the nearby café was truly disappointing, so much so that after two attempts, we decided to have it at another café, obviously at our own expense. The only positives were the proximity to the city center and the comfortable bed, so I wouldn't recommend this property."

"Il Borghetto is genuinely beautiful, well designed, pristine clean and immediately relaxing on arrival. The pool is a salt water pool (no salt taste by the way) with no added chemicals which makes for a very fresh and soft water experience. Complete with a shaded reading area and kiosk bar serving drinks and food. We stayed in a superior room with balcony overlooking the pool area and out to the sea ( I believe they all do unless you select a garden view) which was modern, well laid out with great functional air conditioning and a large bathroom with walk in shower. Spacious bedroom area with high ceilings adding an additional layer of comfort. Supplied with a fridge full of soft drinks (chargeable on use) and standard kettle and beverages. Practical considerations, you do ideally need a car to make the most of the area to Visit the centre and the beach / port. There is no restaurant at the hotel , so go and enjoy what are a selection of incredible and varied eateries with the Romano restaurant associated with the hotel which is a cut above the rest with exceptional local cuisine and taste.( you pay a little more but you don't have to dine there every night). There is also a very good restaurant/ pizzeria within 5 minutes walk of the hotel called the Locanda if you wanted to stay local. If you like walking then walk to the centre but it gets humid , taxis are available and parking is best achieved earlier in the evening. You cannot underestimate the secure gated parking Il Borghetto offers when you genuinely see what is available and you definitely cannot underestimate the warmth and embrace of a family run establishment from the Romano family through arrival , breakfast and departure"

"Villa Paola is the rare hotel that actually lives up to its photos. Set in a beautifully restored 16th-century convent just outside Tropea's old town, it strikes a perfect balance between historic character and modern comfort — high ceilings, Calabrian terracotta floors, Trani marble finishes, and rooms that feel genuinely elegant without being fussy. The grounds are the real showstopper. Layers of wisteria, bougainvillea, jasmine, orange trees, and a towering sea pine wrap around an infinity pool with panoramic views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Watching the sunset from the terrace with a cocktail in hand is the kind of moment you don't forget. The staff made every bit of difference. Warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in your stay — nothing felt transactional. The location is ideal too: peaceful and private, but Tropea's charming streets and beaches are only a short drive away. If you're traveling through Calabria — or making it a destination — Villa Paola is absolutely worth it. One of the finest places we've stayed in all of Italy."

"I stayed at this property for a week. The outside look is a bit depressing, being located in an apartment building next to a medical laboratory. Inside, however, everything is new. There are four modern, well-finished, and spotlessly clean rooms! My bathroom was very large. There was a kettle with coffee, tea, and chamomile tea, plus a mini-fridge. The center is a 5-minute walk away. I had a small problem with the TV; while my other friends had all the channels, I only got Polish TV! Luckily, on the third day, they put Italian channels on! Eleonora and Federica were very kind and, when you call with any problems, they'll get there right away. The only thing I wasn't happy with was having breakfast with a voucher at a café 5 minutes away. Maybe because it was October. I recommend it!"
