"Perfect for a solo stay, the hotel is exceptionally clean and very quiet. The breakfast spread is plentiful, and shopping is incredibly convenient. A special shout-out to the drugstore right next to the hotel, which offers an extra discount for guests! You'll find a wide array of dining options, plenty of Japanese specialty craft shops, and a 24-hour convenience store nearby. This is my second time staying here, and it's super convenient for transit. Plus, there's even a lovely view from the room window!"

"This is my second time staying at the Sunshine City Prince Hotel, and I really love this place. First off, the hotel's location is excellent. It's about a 10-minute walk from Ikebukuro subway station, making it very convenient for visiting various attractions. Secondly, the hotel is directly connected to the Sunshine City shopping mall, which is super convenient for both shopping and dining. Thirdly, there's a performance stage in the mall with boy bands performing almost daily, allowing me to easily catch live shows. The hotel rooms are also very nice, and they provide two complimentary bottles of mineral water every day. The hotel also offers a direct airport shuttle bus. You can book your ticket in advance at the front desk, and it costs 1400 JPY per person, which is incredibly convenient. I will definitely choose this hotel again on my next trip to Tokyo."

"What I love: Next to Lumine and Tobu departmental stores Kombini within hands reach Within 400m from Ikebukuro Metro Very committed staff, fantastic hospitality Rooms are clean & modern Breakfast buffet was pretty extensive What I do not love: Thin walls - no insulation from corridoor noise Smoking floors - although mine was a non-smoking room, I was initially checked into a smoking floor (bad smell lingered at the lift landing and corridor, to my horror), which I had then requested a change of rooms because the a/c blew out musky compromised air, and so my request for a change of rooms was done immediately without hesitation by the front desk. Avoid level 6 because that’s the smoking floor."

"Stayed here just for the 1 night before heading back home boooooo!!! Good stay, hotel clean but area outside is very busy and crowded, esp at night. It was a Sunday night and lots of drunks and people just hanging around 7eleven until the early hours of the morning. Dirty with litter at night but in true Japanese style, immaculately clean at the crack of dawn - Amazing!! Plenty of food options around, both restaurants and convenient stores. The Godzilla head was bigger than we expected, we couldn’t go outside to see it but close enough to be able to take photos. There’s self serve cold drinking water available as well as weighing scales in the lobby (handy as we def did some unexpected shopping) Walked to JR Shinjuku train station after check out catching the Narita Express, Google maps says a 15min walk but felt longer because of the heat and we had all our luggages. Manageable though."

"The room was quite spacious, and we found our 4-night stay very comfortable. The bed was also comfortable, not one of those overly soft types. The location was excellent, with FamilyMart and 7-Eleven stores conveniently located nearby. In fact, there's a 7-Eleven right on the ground floor of the hotel – it couldn't be more convenient! The hotel is very close to the subway station. You can easily walk to Shinjuku to catch a train, or take one from Tochomae Station. The hotel had quite a few international guests, and we were pleased to find a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk. The daily housekeeping was excellent, ensuring a very clean, pleasant, and comfortable stay."

"The room was great, clean, big, good aircon, international plugs. Great services, breakfast was very nice. Very well placed, 200m aways from the subway station . And of course amazing views of Tokyo. The only downside was the check in, you do it on an automatic machine that didn’t work well for us. In a fancy hotel like this, I would love to have a person in front of me instead of a machine."

"The hotel is very grand, featuring a spacious, elegantly decorated lobby with a distinctive centerpiece of purple-pink cockscomb flowers. Upon arrival, we were promptly greeted by staff who took our luggage, escorted us to the front desk for check-in, and then delivered our bags to our room. The front desk staff were highly efficient, making both check-in and check-out incredibly fast. We had booked a room in the tower and were pleasantly surprised to be assigned a high-floor room with views of the Imperial Palace. Even though there's an elevated light rail line directly below with trains continuously passing, we only perceived minimal noise. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a good night's sleep. The buffet breakfast is served on the 17th floor, the top floor of the main building. While the selection wasn't extensive, it more than made up for it with delicious food, excellent service, and superb views. The hotel boasts an excellent location, within walking distance of Hibiya Park, the Imperial Palace, Tokyo Station, and Ginza. It's also about a 10-minute walk from the nearest subway station, which was perfect for a post-dinner stroll to digest. We had a truly delightful stay."

"The room was spacious, and the public areas were also very well-maintained. However, complimentary drinking water was not provided in the room; we had to go to the floor's water dispenser, which was a bit inconvenient. We didn't book breakfast as there were so many dining options available nearby. The hotel is very close to Shinjuku Station, easily accessible via the second-floor pedestrian deck, directly opposite Takashimaya – extremely convenient. The airport limousine bus stop is conveniently located right downstairs and is the first pick-up point. However, it then spends about 30 minutes going around to pick up other passengers, which feels like a wasted detour. Opting for the JR train or going to a different bus terminal yourself is also very straightforward and gets you to the airport in roughly 1.5 hours. Overall, the value for money wasn't particularly high, so I might explore other hotels in the vicinity on my next visit."

Amazing
GGuest UserI am a book lover myself, and came to stay here for 2 nights in March a week before Easter, mainly for the library theme and book selection. The hotel itself, the book lounge, and the book libraries on each floor was all very very good. However, upon my checking in, it was obvious that the male receptionist on the left pay more attention to Caucasian guests rather than me (an Asian solo female traveller). I had the impression they just wanted to get rid of me asap, and then served the Caucasian guests behind me. During the whole of my check in process, no one mentioned anything about the special libraries on each floor, no one told me about the free beverages offered “at the far end corner for the reception desk”, and definitely no one mentioned anything about he QRcode library tour!!! I stayed for two nights and it was only after the first night (when I read the books inside my room that I knew of ANY of the services I mentioned above). Of course one may say I could read all those on the signage’s provided in the property. But then… Upon walking into the reception desk the next day, I did hear the same male receptionist explained in great detail (everything I mentioned above)in English to other Caucasian guests. I like the library premise of the property, the books selections were great, exhibition on the first floor was quite nice, however, I am not sure if I would stay for a second time, knowing how they treated solo female Asian guest whom they assumed was not civilised enough (that was my impression) to deserve a thorough introduction about this lovely bookish hotel from them. Quite disappointed to be frank, especially knowing how much history this hotel has included!!

JjudaeaThe hotel's location is superb, a quiet haven amidst the city's buzz, with Shinjuku's main commercial area within walking distance. Airport bus stops and subway stations are also just a few minutes' walk away. As expected, the hotel's cleanliness was up to Japanese standards. The service was attentive; upon check-in, the air conditioning had already been turned on, creating a comfortable environment. Toiletries provided were from P*OLA, and other personal care items were available for self-collection. Highly recommended; it will be my top choice for my next stay.

AAsimaThe location is incredibly convenient. There's a subway station right downstairs with direct access to both Narita and Haneda Airports. Tokyo Station (for Shinkansen) isn't far either; we walked there with luggage on our first day in under 20 minutes. Ginza is very close, and Akihabara isn't far, making it a truly central location. There's a convenience store on the ground floor. The hotel offers afternoon tea and a unique Japanese *ochazuke* as a late-night snack. For our three-person stay, three beds were prepared, and the room was spacious enough. The only minor drawback is the lack of a public bath, possibly due to the hotel's size. The Osaka branch, however, does have one.

GGuest UserThe location is excellent, with convenient transport links nearby. It's close to metro and bus stops, making it easy to reach various business districts. There are also plenty of restaurants and convenience stores in the vicinity, so everything you need is within easy reach. Upon check-out, the staff thoughtfully inquired about my stay and genuinely welcomed me back for future visits. Overall, choosing this place for my business trip was an excellent decision. I wouldn't hesitate to book here again for future business trips and highly recommend it to all my business associates!

GGuest UserThe location is fantastic, super close to Higashi-Ginza Station – literally just 2 meters away! The hotel offers a pillow menu, complimentary pajamas, and a daily onsen (hot spring bath), meaning you don't have to squeeze into a tiny in-room shower. These thoughtful amenities alone make it a truly worthwhile choice! In the evenings, there's a complimentary welcome bar offering a variety of drinks to sample at your leisure, which definitely adds a fun touch to your trip. Plus, a Yoshinoya is conveniently located just about ten meters from the hotel entrance, ideal for grabbing a late-night gyudon after a long day of shopping. What a great bonus!

Ssulee17Dormy Inn Ueno-Okachimachi boasts an excellent location, being just the shortest walk from Ueno Station. On our way, we even spotted a Torikizoku sign, and we ended up dining there one evening. Of course, with so many restaurants right across from the hotel and in the surrounding area, my 'choice paralysis' definitely kicked in! The main reason we chose Dormy Inn was for its large public bath, complete with complimentary popsicles and Yakult after a relaxing soak. Breakfast was also fantastic; the fried shrimp in the morning was absolutely divine. The breakfast was so substantial that we stayed full throughout our two-day stay, meaning we even skipped their complimentary Yonaki Soba (late-night ramen) in the evenings. The hotel only has one elevator, so there was a bit of a wait during peak hours. From our room, we had a view of the Tokyo Skytree. Despite being right next to the Shuto Expressway, there was absolutely no traffic noise, which speaks volumes about their excellent soundproofing.

AAnonymous UserStayed here for one night as an experiment and I actually liked it! The capsules are spacious and clean and I slept quite well. There is even a sleep quality analysis option which is an interesting experience. And the interior design is minimalistic and elegant However, the lockers are quite narrow and not suitable for large amounts of luggage (although there is an option to store it in a storage room). Shower was a tiny bit dirty but it was still adequate. The location is a bit inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage, you need to carry it uphill from the metro station (the neighbourhood is quiet and cozy though!). Overall, it's worth the price I still recommend it if you want to try something new

GGuest UserIt’s our first time in Tokyo. My family and I stayed in standard double bedrooms which have windows. We are really impressed with the hotel’s service. They have luggage deposit service for free. You can deposit your luggage before you check in and after you check out. They adjusted the direction of the escalator for us. The overall of rooms’ size and hotel is quite small, but it doesn’t bother that much. The location is so great that you can visit many famous shops like Uniqlo, Donki, GU near the place. And, it’s near a market and the train station including KS line. The restaurants near here are nice. The food tasted so delicious, even if we just randomly chose to eat. However, Ueno has a lot of clubs, so at night there’re several girls standing alongside the street with their guards. It may seem dangerous for someone.

DDariaLocation and the host were totally good. Of course, capsule hotel has some inconveniences (you don't have enough space to store your stuff and you can only give it to the host on the 1st floor and they put it into a baggage room, also there is no ventilation in the capsules and in some of them there was too hot so the hot allowed my friend to change capsule). But the worst experience here was because of our capsule neighbour on the 3rd floor (so I can't blame the hotel) - she was obviously out of her mind, went to the toilet every 5 minutes and spent huge amount of toilet paper, so in a couple of hours she used up all the toilet paper on our floor. The host came and replaced the new paper - but in 2 hours it was the same way...
