The room is large and clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. For the location, there are many restaurant nearby and it takes 15 minutes to get to the Unawatuna Beach on foot.

Basic hotel in a reasonable location for access to the beach area of Galle. The beach is lovely and you can walk or get a tuk tuk there. The hotel rooms are basic. The bathroom has no fan. The blinds do not adequately cut out the outside light so eye shields might be needed - they were for me. There is a good lift. Breakfast is just okay. We found ordering a tuk tuk on Uber was hopeless - the drivers just couldn’t seem to locate the hotel. Best to just get one outside the hotel.

We stayed in the bunk-bed rooms with bed and breakfast and it was absolutely worth the price. The entire experience was hassle free and convenient thanks to the responsive and friendly staff, who even helped pick out places to go and check out! And the pool was clean and was a delight for a fun evening swim.

Had an amazing stay at Hotel J Unawatuna with 4 of my friends! The rooms were clean, comfy, and just what we needed after long beach days. The pool was such a vibe—perfect for chilling with good music and laughs. Breakfast? Solid. Good variety and tasty enough to get us going for the day. What really stood out was the staff—super friendly, attentive, and always on point. Big shoutout to them for making everything smooth. Definitely recommend this spot if you’re looking for a chill, convenient place to stay in Unawatuna!

Value for money - great choice . In fact we have extended our stay. The best shower so far (this is our 5th hotel in Sri Lanka) comfortable bed, nice light room, working A/C and a ceiling fan. Supermarket opposite and pharmacy and atm 100 yards away. Great pool music and the pool is super clean - better than others we’ve had on this trip. Yes it’s a basic hotel, yes it’s rough around the edges in the rooms, yes it’s a 20 min walk or 500 for a tuk tuk to the beach but value for money it’s worth a 5 score.
