Receptionist placed us in a room right above a wedding reception that shook our room until 1030. The overall condition of the hotel has deteriorated quite a bit in recent years.

Outrageous daily $62 valet parking fee & daily $60 resort fee for nothing!! If you can abide those, the hotel itself is lovely, & Director of Operations Michael S is very customer-centered & responsive to guest requests. He made our stay wonderful aside from the junk fees above. Just prior to this stay, I stayed at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, but the Grand Hyatt Vail is my favorite even though it's allegedly a lower hotel brand. GHV is surrounded by lush foliage, beautiful trees, & picturesque timbered mountains. The internal color scheme is earth-toned, peaceful, & in harmony with the natural setting -- just lovely. Our 3rd floor "mountain view" room had a nice quiet balcony for sitting above the creek just outside although most of the mountains were blocked by tall trees. However, all this nature comes at a cost: the hotel needs to do something about the bugs on the balcony who sworm on you & want to come inside your room whenever you open the balcony door, & you find them on the inside of your windows & on the white sinks in the bathroom on the other side of the bedroom. I observed a housekeeper batting away a web on the balcony ceiling, but they need to use some kind of chemical spray to keep them away as they are a persistent nuisance. Note that GHV is not located in Vail Village which is about a 15 minute free Hyatt shuttle away. The shuttle is not as inconvenient as it sounds as it runs every 20 minutes & provides more striking g moutain views enroute. We loved the hotel & Michael, but hated the fees & bugs.

We loved our trip to Vail and our stay at the Grand Hyatt Vail! From the front desk to the valets, everyone we encountered greeted us with a smile and excellent customer service. The hotel is beautiful. It is situated on a creek, with the pool and hot tub overlooking the scenery. There is a walking path along the creek for hiking or biking. The rooms are very clean and beautifully appointed. There is transportation provided by the hotel into nearby, gorgeous Vail Village. We enjoyed our dining experience at the hotel and found lots of restaurant options in the nearby village too. The hotel is located within an hour or so of mountain towns and attractions, such as the Georgetown Loop Railroad, mountain gondola rides and Breckenridge. We had a wonderful time on day trips during our stay, and a relaxing experience at the Grand Hyatt.

The Hyatt is a beautiful spot in West Vail, that provides all kinds of amenities for a weekend getaway or a big celebration. There are good food options, a beautiful terrace with a nice pool and hot tub. The staff were so accommodating and friendly, including the front desk, food service, valet/bell men and the event planner. There is a hotel shuttle that continually runs and will take you to Lion's Head and the main village. We were there for our daughter's wedding. It was an 8 minute walk to the wedding venue (Donovan Pavilion). We felt so happy to have stayed at the Hyatt.

The property is nice, though it requires a shuttle or car to really get to the heart of Vail Village. The property is situated on the creek and is pretty. Rooms are fairly small for the price. There is a whopping $62 per day fee to park, and another $60 per day resort fee that is not matched with the level of opportunity you'd usually see for such a hefty "extra" daily fee. The pool area is nice but small, and simply not up to the rates that this property charges for an end-of-season visit.

We are just finishing up our 3 night stay at the Grand Hyatt Vail and we have to give it a two thumbs up. All the staff were so kind and helpful. Carlos at breakfast for 3 mornings was great. Sam in the bar was also very helpful and friendly. Everyone we encountered was helpful and pleasant, from valet and shuttle drivers to servers and the front desk. We really enjoyed all our meals as well. There were 4 of us and we all ate 3 breakfasts and a lunch and a dinner in the hotel restaurant. All meals were very good. My friend and I especially loved the touch of the macaroons that were served after breakfast. A delicious sweet treat that was out of the norm from other hotels. We ate at Makoto, the other restaurant in the hotel on our last night and it was delicious. Nice ambiance and excellent service. It is on the pricey side as are most sushi spots in Vail but it was nice we didn't even have to leave the hotel to have a special gourmet meal. The public areas of the hotel are all well maintained. The lobby area was comfortable and had a large screen TV and a fire place. We had drinks there each night and watched some tennis our last night. We did not get to enjoy the pool much as the weather didn't cooperate when we had the time, but we did have a drink there while we were waiting for our room at check in. The pool looks out onto the river as do many areas of the hotel. The pool is not huge but definitely sufficient. It was very crowded one day as the hotel was 100% occupied partially due to a wedding, but the next day it was quiet. There was live music on Friday and a DJ at the pool from 1-3 another afternoon. They offered free cookies at the pool two afternoons and had smores another. We were gone during the smores offering but I thought that sounded fun for kids. We had a standard room. The bed was very comfortable so no complaints there. The vanity counter space is tiny, so I had to use the shelf below for toiletries. Loved the shower though. We had a small balcony with 2 chairs which I did use. Housekeeping was timely and well done. There was some wear and tear on the carpets but nothing horrible. Only negative at all was our room was not ready until 4:35pm due to the 100% occupancy. The front desk handled it well though and I appreciated that they got us into the room shortly after I explained we had 5:15 dinner reservations that we needed to change for. You can walk from the hotel into Lions Head and Vail Village along the Gore Creek. They also have a hotel shuttle that will take you to the village. We did end up having to take am Uber from the Village back to the hotel one night as the shuttle was full so just know that could happen. I do enjoy staying right in the Village, but I would definitely stay at the Grand Hyatt again based on our experience this trip.
