This motel was better than Expected. I was pleasantly surprised. They offered a full breakfast in their cozy breakfast room. The rooms were simple, but clean and smelled good which is important. All cable channels on tv and clean refrigerator and microwave. Convenient location to our work locationGood value for the money.

A bad room with a **** for a manager. First the air conditioner heater would not cool the room manager did nothing and did not care. then the room was dirty and they never cleaned it for three days first saing their cleaner was ill then claiming it had been cleaned and checked off when it was not. We had run out of toilet paper and the toilet and the room was unsanitary with the toilet rocking and leaking the manager would do nothing.

Had a great stay at Split Mountain Motel! The staff were great and very accommodating! The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable and the included breakfast was much appreciated! Definitely recommend staying there!

We walked into the room and got slapped by the nasty stank of cigarettes. I immediately pulled the comforter off the beds and noted the sheets were dirty and greasy. The towels were stained and dirty, floor disgusting, light sockets hanging off the wall or completely missing, night stand was ripped off the wall and no longer there. Mold was very poorly painted over in the bathroom. We ended up just taking a shower, using our own towels, and then leaving and sleeping in a gas station parking lot instead. So we basically just paid $130 for a shower... P.s. To the manager- Sorry/not sorry for the present left in the toilet, but it didn't flush... HA! I cannot believe this place is in business.

Main light switches do not turn on room lights. The lamp didn’t work in one room. We had 2 rooms. The A/C unit did not work in one room, however, manager let us switch rooms at 12:30 AM when we woke up sweating. It has a very small breakfast bar, with cook your own waffles and machine coffee and juice and apples. Place was reasonably clean.

We checked in here this afternoon. Firstly we arrived in town an hour early but decided to see if there was a room ready for us (never an issue at any other hotel). I wasn't even let past the reception door. I found this rude without any explanation. We went and had lunch and returned an hour later. We still weren't let in the reception door. When we got into our room it was horrific. It obviously hadn't been cleaned. There were knots of hair on the pillows and sheets, the sink was manky, the sockets were hanging off the wall and there were still items in the fridge from the last poor unfortunate that stayed in the room. Add all this to the rudest manager I have ever met we left and booked another hotel. The only saving grace is that he said he would give us a refund. I have to contact ********** about this as I booked through them, so this remains to be seen. There is no justification for any booking site to have such an inferior property on their site. I am only giving this kip one star because I can't give it any less.

The room was large, the fridge small, the bed comfortable, the room quiet, but there were some problems. Like other folks we booked the Split Mountain because of the location close to Dinosaur and Flaming Gorge, the included breakfast, and the very reasonable rate. We were disappointed in the level of mould in the shower, the extraordinary length of time it took to get reasonably hot water (likely the location of the room) and the little things like a headboard half connected to the wall and needing to unplug the TV or the room light to use the in room coffee maker. But hey, it had a coffee maker with decent coffee and if you like toast, waffles, cereal, muffins, and sweet rolls you should be fine with the free breakfast. I think that the facility is understaffed and over worked and would happily pay a bit more for a bit fresher look, a bit cleaner bath/shower, and some breakfast selections that might include yogurt, and more choices of fruit. Perhaps it is just something we can blame on "supply chain" issues?!
