Trailsman Lodge

Door lock broken, it took 5 min. to finally open, showerhead broken & sprays everywhere, windows don't open or slam shut on their own, TV arcs with a flash and bang in the back often, I had to unplug, fridge froze my food dial just spins around. Almost like it was *******.

A comfortable stay for one night. It is close to the water and they have a nice little swimming pool. Great breakfast to fill up on. Manager on site friendly and helpful. A pleasant stay.

I had a stay oct 16 24', upon my arrival to my room. I was greated by a shower that didnt drain, Mold on the grout and what appeared to be a moldy jar in the fridge. With all this in mind, i went to the front desk in the a.m ( i arrived late, had just finished the cabot trail on my motorcycle and booked a last minuite stay at 9 pm it was a october I just wanted a warm shower and a bed). I explained my frustrations to an employee at the time by the name of Mac (Maqbool Bhatti) he claimed it would have to be sent to management and that it was indeed unacceptable. I was like cool im just looking for 30% off my stay because the bed was comfy and breakfast was avg. Mac said he would contact me in a few days fast track to the next week.. I call and follow up Mac gets back to me.. awh yeah sorry management hasnt gotten back to me. Me: Ok no worries ill follow up in a few days. At this point i due some digging into who owns the place well doesnt Mac (Maqbool Bhatti) own the place... Call Mac back like hey man so you own the place ? he informs me a Joe Adams does and at this point im recording. So im like no I see a photo of you and your son online that you bought the place for 567K & invested 500K into it (Google owner of Trailsman lodge article should pop up) anyways at this point Mac says YOU DONT KNOW WHO YOUR TALKING TOO. I lold and was like that wasnt very smart to say over a recorded conversation. Mac denied on the phone it was mold (in person he said it was) then i said alright Mac if it wasnt black mold was it dirt ? Because thats also a health concern, he then accused me of smearing mud over the grout... lol. He ended the call with I dont care if they shut me down im trying to retire. Which was also recorded & just shows all he cares about is the money and not the hospitality. Anyways my CC company, the RCMP are involved now & health authorities will be contacted in the morning, debating the news.

The extra money for the room with a view was worth it. The room had two doors. We parked in front of the front door and walked through to the back door to sit on the deck which ran the full length of the motel units. The view from our window and from the deck was beautiful. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was comfortable and the shower worked well. The hot breakfast was very good for a motel breakfast. There was a good restaurant a very short drive away where we ate dinner. The location was excellent for beginning or ending the Cabot Trail.

Our room was located in a separate side building and did not face the lake but instead faced a noisy driveway. The wall and doors are paper thin so you could clearly hear people in the next room and corridor. The room and sheets were clean but there was a thick layer of dust on the surface in the bathroom, which suggests a not thorough clean. The breakfast was not at all appetising, we just had some toast. The coffee was undrinkable. The location is good, close to Big Spruce brewery and the beginning of the Cabot trail. I would not recommend.
