Le Relais des Eléphants Colorés

A very warm welcome on arrival, Caz & Terry (& of course, Murray - the gorgeous Black Lab) both went that extra mile to make our stay comfortable, enjoyable and memorable. Accommodation and gardens were beautiful, with table tennis, connect 4 and several seating areas, allowing us to relax and read as well as keeping us entertained. The swimming pool was also a welcome relief from the sunshine. Caz & Terry were very helpful sharing ideas on what we could visit and do in the area. We ate with our hosts as well on an evening (table d'hote) 3 course set menu which was lovely and very enjoyable. We would highly recommend a stay at Le Relais Des Elephants Colores.

Caz and and Terry made myself and my sister feel extremely welcome. The rooms were spotless and the food was of exceptional quality, and the breakfast eggs came courtesy of their very own chickens. Caz and Terry were so accommodating and made sure we had an excellent experience with them. There was plenty to do in the area, I particularly enjoyed the velo ride! There was also a lovely pool on site and outdoor games such as Connect 4 and badminton. The attention to detail was amazing in everything they did. Can't wait for my next stay with them!

We travelled from the UK on our way to Toulouse, the location and time from Calais made this the perfect halfway stop. We booked one night on the way down and 3 nights on the way back. Riding a motorbike meant that a secure parking area was a must, they have a gated area I could leave my bike in safely. Fun place to stay, plenty of facilities as listed, the outside bar area and fire pit made for a very enjoyable stay. Quiet and secluded, on the way back we toured some of the local sites using this as our base. There is a lot to see and do in the area, a must visit is the "Pays Du Dome" a great day out, very scenic, we took the train to the top of the volcano and saw the ruins of the monastery at the top. The room was very well appointed, clean and comfortable with an en-suite bathroom. Still a bit chilly for the pool, but will definitely stay here again later in the year when the weather is hotter! As for the breakfast... prepare to gain a few kgs!

I spent a few nights at this beautiful farm house out of season. It was stunning! My room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. I ate with the lovely couple Caz and Terry and the food was of chef quality. The mushroom and cheese soup was to die for! I visited the local town of Montlucon and had a nice lunch at the Nouvelle Auberge, roughly 30 minutes by car. I would highly recommend this lovely farmhouse and look forward to going back in the summer to swim in the pool and visit the nearby lakes and volcano.

We came here out of season and stayed for 3 nights. Terry and Caz were perfect hosts, and nothing was too much trouble for them . The breakfast was continental and couldn't be faulted. The atmosphere was informal and friendly. We stayed in the purple elephant room. Our room was spacious , and bed was comfortable..... Can't praise highly enough the bathroom.... Great hot and powerful shower!!! If you want peace, relaxation, friendly hospitable hosts, in a beautiful part of the country. Ideal for long walks etc. Then this is the place !
