We arrived at the Wadebridge Travelodge in the late afternoon. We were lucky to get one of the two disabled parking bays by the hotel entrance. The receptionist 'Tash' couldn't have been more helpful. When she saw me struggling with suitcases she came from behind reception to assist me. She was welcoming and friendly. Our 'accessible' room, with a wet room bathroom, overlooked the front of the hotel and the disabled parking bays. Parking, in general, is limited as they share spaces with the neighbouring pub. Parking is free for hotel guests. The room was clean and functional. Our requests for extra towels and tea and coffee making consumables were immediately satisfied. The towels, which were bath-sheet sized, appeared to be new and fluffy. Having a 'wet room' bathroom is much better than the 'accessible' rooms in other Travelodges where they just have lowered baths with a shower overhead. I would comment that the floor in the shower area does become slippery when soap is used. Perhaps provision of a rubber bathmat would be useful. The hotel has Aldi, B&M and Tesco stores opposite. All within easy walking distance. We noticed that several hotel residents were buying food in those shops and returning to eat in their rooms. There is also a bakery further up the hill past Aldi. They serve All Day Breakfasts and a range of cooked foods as well as takeaway dishes. All in all we found this to be an ideal location on the edge of Wadebridge. When we checked out the following morning the chambermaid staff were also willing to assist as they'd identified that I have mobility difficulties.
