Safari Plains

Just returned from a week at Safari Plains lodge, exceeded expectations on every level. Accommodation, service, food and game drives were excellent.

I had an amazing trip with my work collegues. Everything was top notch. The friendly service on arrival and throughout our stay, the relaxing massage, the accommodation as well as the game drive! Excellent! The food could not be faulted and was out of this world.

Safari Plains is an amazing Game Lodge dedicated to giving its guests the best experience ever. This was our first Safari and it overwhelmed any possible expectations. The staff are exceptional and the accommodation is really comfortable. The game drives are amazing and our guide was full of enthusiasm and knowledge. Above all we felt safe with her. Would go nowhere else now for a safari for fear of diappointment.

Located a couple of hours or so from Jo'burg airport, Safari Plains is a wonderful oasis. The Lodge is great, plenty of room to have meals. The menus are brilliant and there is no chance of anyone going hungry. There is a swimming pool, which we never used. The accommodation is very spacious with a lovely small verenda. Very comfortable bed and the bathroom area is massive - we seemed to have a family room. The amentities in the accommodation are brilliant, everything you could need and the soaps/shampoo are amazing - I'm looking for a site to order some! The accommodation is kept spotlessly clean. The staff are amazing, there is nothing that is an issue and there is a small gift area in reception. The safari drives were amazing. Both Ben and Michaela worked hard to ensure we saw all that we could see. They imparted their extensive knowledge in a very understandable way and not just about the animals. The refreshments after the morning and late afternoon drives were always presented beautifully. I am really struggling to understand how Safari Plains is rated as 4 star, I would rate them 5 star.

Our stay at Safari Plains was amazing! Every single staff member was so friendly and kind. Our luxury tent was fantastic! Super clean and cozy. All of our food was delicious! For our safari drives, we had Ben, who was amazing! We saw the big 5, lots of giraffes, rhinos, buffalo, zebras, and we were lucky to see the lions several times and the elephants! Our entire stay was amazing and a fantastic value for the money. I cannot recommend Safari Plains enough! It is about a 2 hour drive from Johannesburg. We booked our transfer from Johannesburg through Shuttle King.

The staff and food are without question top class and you are guaranteed to be well looked after. Room was beautiful and always in pristine clean condition. There are personal touches that just make the whole experience mind blowing.
