We had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful hotel last night. All of the staff are charming helpful and friendly. We stayed in ASH suite which was absolutely divine with homemade cookies sloe gin and humbugs. We had dinner in the restaurant and I have to say it was faultless. The food was so delicious we were wowing over it all night. I cannot wait to return to this gem of a hotel and cannot recommend it enough. Wonderful experience and perfect in every way,

An ideal country house experience. The staff are very friendly and this adds to the relaxed and luxurious atmosphere. Dinner was absolutely superb. The chef is an artist. Also they have created a delightful modern space to dine in. Likewise breakfast is a delight. It was foggy and cold the night we stayed which added to the getaway indulgent experience Maybe return in Spring or Summer

This is a review of lunch in the restaurant. The professionalism and courtesy of the staff from start to finish was impeccable. We were a bit surprised not to be invited to take an aperitf-never mind,it was straight into the tap water. The food was sublime, each dish and the intemrdiates carefully and knowledgably explained by the waiter. Certainly one of the best Michelin starred restaurants we've visited.Lunch was followed by a stroll around the magnificent gardens on the hottest day of the year. Of course it's expensive ans only for special occasions (my 80th bbirthday) but we will certainly think of an excuse to return

Absolutely everything one would want in a charming country inn. The gardens are incredible, and the food every bit as spectacular. The service is top notch, and everyone working there will know you by the end of your stay. Do take the time to speak with the gardeners ( and meet their dogs!). Sneak into the charming bar (or one of the welcoming sitting rooms) for tea and or a drink. Hint: If the weather is nice-you can also get drinks in the garden by the restaurant.

I think when you’re greeted at the entrance and they address you by your actual name it speaks volumes. We visited for afternoon tea during a weekday. What can I say - everything was first class, the service, the professional but relaxed attitude of all the staff, the food served was all gorgeous and prepared from their own gardens where possible. Beautiful handmade cakes decorate with miniature (edible) flowers from their gardens. Good choice of teas served along with lovely English sparkling wine (so much more appreciated than French Champagne these days). Highly recommended….

Exceptional hotel with outstanding food, service and gardens. Will definitely return. All the little touches were amazing from fresh flowers in our room, little treats on our bed each night and the ambience. We are already looking at when we can next visit.

Excellent hotel and restaurant with staff to match! My wife and I were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and with my wife being immunosuppressed it was especially important that she felt comfortable, I can honestly say the staff were very considerate and respectful of her situation all of which made our stay really special and was truly appreciated. Will return without hesitation to this fantastic place!

We stayed Sunday into Monday and would thoroughly recommend. It's a real treat. The staff were all so nice - I feel rather rude, as I didn't get names; The Geordie man on the door. The Romanian barman and the lovely blonde lady at breakfast were some of the standouts, but all were a credit to the place and definitely added to the experience. We felt bad as we forgot to arrive with any cash. I do hope the 12.5% they put on any food/drink is distributed to all staff members and not just the serving staff. The chambermaids work so hard! We will be back as I can only imagine how this place is during the summer.
