We loved our stay at the Charlie! Hotels often say they are like “a home away from home” but this is the first inn we’ve stayed at where that is SO true! Our cottage was the Gregory and it was beautiful and spacious and super charming! It felt like walking into a Nancy Meyer’s movie. The gardens/grounds are laid out in a way that creates privacy for each of the units. We will definitely book long in advance for our next trip to LA as we’d be very disappointed to have to stay somewhere else!

We loved this hotel, it was perfect, quite private and very comfortable. We stayed in the Clarke suite and it was fabulous, spacious and lovely to have 2 bathrooms. The staff were friendly and discreet and it really felt like we had our own place. If you want a home from home it’s perfect, no bar or food, but that was fine we took wine onto the balcony and it was never busy. We will come back when next in LA as it’s so peaceful.

We stayed at the Charlie at the beginning of October and we were away by the room and hotel in general. Friendly staff and great facilities in a quiet part of LA but located very centrally for what we wanted to do. Thank you to everyone at the hotel

We are frequent visitors to LA and usually stay at Airbnbs in the neighborhood. We just heard of The Charlie recently and so glad we did. The apartment was fantastic - it had all the amenities we needed from our own laundry to a full kitchen. It was very clean and extremely comfortable. The landscaped courtyard and private gated parking were a huge plus. Also, it is in the middle of a residential street, so it is very quiet. Can't recommend this hotel, and the management team, enough - and we are looking forward to our next stay!

For sight seeing in LA, the Charlie Hotel was so comfortable. We were in town for a week, so having an apartment with the benefit of all day staff and outdoor space provided a level of accommodation and hand-holding (as needed) generally above that of a typical hotel room or apartment rental. It lacked amenities such as a pool and work-out room, but that was okay with us as we were exploring sights during most of the day and out at night. And the location in West LA is excellent for accessing so very many cultural institutions, shopping options, restaurants and beaches without having to get on the freeway or interstate. Traffic was hardly a problem for us. The accommodations themselves were lovely, comfy and infused with LA movie history, as the land/bungalows were once owned by Charlie Chaplin!

The Charlie ranks at the top of the list of places in which we have stayed. I would describe our Dylan suite as cozy luxury. As soon as entered we immediately felt welcomed and at home! All rooms (bath, bedroom, living room and small kitchen) were immaculate. One of my criteria for a top-notch stay is the quality of the bed and bed linens and it passed with flying colors! Although the kitchen is tiny, it contained a stove, dishwasher and full-size fridge in case you wanted to cook.
The walkways, plantings and fountains are magical! As soon as you step in off the street you are transported to a peaceful and enchanting oasis and you feel far removed from the city’s noise and congestion. The Charlie will always be our choice any time we are in the area.
