We stayed for 2 nights and had the gourmet offer on the second day. My wife and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary while we were there and it proved to be a fantastic way to celebrate. The accommodation, food and drink and the staff were all excellent and we look forward to our next visit.

It was our first time visiting the Wensleydale Heifer and we loved it. We stayed two nights in the Champaign room to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. The room was fabulous, so luxurious with everything we needed. The little nibbles, the celebration balloon, card and notepad were all lovely touches. The food both evenings and the breakfast were all absolutley delicious. We found all the staff so helpful and friendly too. I loved the surprise treats (champaign, rose etc) my husband ordered for our anniversary....it was all a very magical and special stay. Thank you so much.

Fabulous room, All Creatures Great and Small, would love to stay in this room again. Added touches really appreciated, comfortable bed and adequate bathroom. Breakfast good quality food and sufficient choice available. Staff very good and pleasant. We chose to the economic dinner menu which was a mistake and we should have had the a la carte as the food choices and appearance of the food was far superior. Cheese board was a disappointment and not what we expected and we did not enjoy the risotto with the bream.

Lovely stay, fantastic dinner, great service...simples! The Wensleydale Heifer is terrific, the themed rooms are fun - and also comfortable. They welcome dogs and they even get a sausage for breakfast! The restaurant is top class and the flavours in the food are excellent, and supported by an extensive wine list. Service is friendly, casual, but efficient. A great stay

Well, that had to be the best fish & chips we’ve ever had! We tried the ‘fish & chip experience’ so had a wonderful medley of haddock, prawns, sea bass, fish cakes, scampi and even a sausage, which were all cooked perfectly. We hadn’t eaten anything else that day, thank heavens, and even then we still couldn’t finish everything on the platter but we gave it a good shot! The team were all friendly and helpful, and the Fish Bar where we ate has some quirky decor that added to the experience. This is definitely somewhere we’ll visit again when we come back to the area.

They had thought of everything. We stayed in the chocolate room and there was chocolate everywhere, inlcuding a velvetiser for hot chocolate. It was a lovely bed, there was an alexa and dvd player with dvds to borrow, plus netflix on the tv if you wanted it. There was a fan to cool and a heater if it was too cold. The mini bar was well stocked. The bathroom had a jet bath and seperate shower, there were fluffy robes and toiletries. On leaving I forgot to ask for my goodie bag unless that was meant to be the temple spa toiletries in the room. Coudn't fault the stay probably the nicest hotel I have been in. If you approach the car park from the same side as the hotel is on it is a very tight turn in, so I went further down the village and turned in from the other side of the road.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Came here whilst on holiday. Had the set lunch menu. Food was delicious.service exceptional Staff attentive I eat out a lot and best food had eating out. So much so we came back the next day for Sunday lunch. Visit this restaurant. You will not be disappointed and will leave very full up! Thank you to the heifer staff for a wonderful eating experience

Amazing hosts as always. Second time we have stayed in the Night at the movies room which is really spacious and relaxing. The surf and turf should not be missed, amazing quality food and cocktails. Cant wait to be back!

We stayed for two nights in the Malt Whiskey room and we enjoyed our stay. The room was comfy but a bit small (I think it's the smallest room at the hotel), amenities such as the refreshments, bathroom soaps/lotions and the bed and bath linens were all top notch. No a/c (as was expected) meant it was bit warm in July but with the window open at night it was ok. The only downside for me was the lack of common areas, the ground floor is pretty much completely occupied by the restaurant, even the bar area. With such a small bedroom it would have been nice to have a lounge to hang out in (there is one but it's very small)..
