Great afternoon tea. Lots of sandwiches, great scones and a great selection of cakes. Lovely staff. This was a gift so we used the afternoon tea gift voucher. One of us had a glass of prosecco. When we went to pay for it, the cost of the prosecco was twice the cost quoted on the menu, so I queried this. I was told, oh that's the service charge. We paid it, but imagine if we had turned up with just the vouchers. Apart from this, we had an enjoyable afternoon tea. But I think it should be made clear on buying vouchers that you will have an additional service charge to pay.

Visited for lunch for my daughter's 18th. I've been to this venue to my companies Christmas meals which have been good. This was not great. To be fair the starters were good. The three vegetarian pasta meals were extremely salty. You may want to check if this was an error. My daughter couldn't eat hers and even my son with a very healthy appetite. I tried it and far too much salt. My pudding wasn't great either. Nobody asked me how the meal was or I would have said. Mains took quite a while to arrive. Venue for Christmas meal for next year now in doubt.

An Afternoon Tea Birthday gift - 24th April 2025. What a treat to remember. A delicious gift arranged by Claire for myself (Julia) to celebrate a special birthday. Everything was exceptional - the food was first class, the ambience stunning, all very well presented. And we were extremely well looked after by 'Becky' who is a complete gem, what a beautiful person. Attention to detail spot on, service with warmth, very professional and smiles.

We had a wonderful Afternoon Tea at Weston Hall as a family of six, and it truly exceeded our expectations. The setting was beautiful and made the whole experience feel really special. The selection of food was fantastic, with a great balance of savoury and sweet treats — but the highlight for me was definitely the Parma Violet macaron, which was absolutely delicious and so unique! The kids’ Afternoon Tea was equally impressive — perfectly pitched for younger ones with fun, thoughtful touches that made them feel just as special as the adults. It’s not always easy to find somewhere that caters so well for all ages, but Weston Hall got it spot on. Thank you for such a lovely afternoon — we’ll definitely be back!

When reading this review please bear in mind that the cost is £27.95 per person for afternoon tea. Weston Hall is a splendid looking building and the thought of having Afternoon tea for my wife’s birthday was one we were looking forward to. Once seated we ordered freshly ground coffee and the coffee was brought to our table in no time at all. Unfortunately from here on , it’s an account of great disappointment. One of the coffee cups were chipped on the rim , the coffee was lukewarm And was so weak I think it was made from used ground coffee beans. The coffee cup was replaced and fresh coffee was brought to the table. The sandwiches and scones / cakes were served. One of the plates on the cake stand had two chips in the rim, the sandwiches looked totally unappetising. The fillings were only just there and tasteless, the white bread was stale and had a hard texture to the outer sides. You could get better sandwiches from ASDA basics take out counter ( if there is such a sandwich) ! The jam in the pot that accompanied the scones appeared to have been used by others prior to being served to ourselves. The fruit scones had the minimum amount of fruit in them , if there were six pieces of fruit in one of them you would be lucky. All in all a very disappointing afternoon tea , we did complain and we did receive a reduction in the bill , the total cost for the afternoon tea should have been £27.95 x 2. £55.90 , it was not worth £10.00 each. In our opinion DON’T waste your hard earned money on this very poor quality Afternoon Tea.

Having had many afternoon teas here our visit on 12 April was a little disappointing. The service fell well below usual Weston Hall standards. The restaurant and bar area was full and we felt they were understaffed and waitresses didn't seem to have allocated tables to serve as we saw at least 3 during our visit. Our waitress took food and tea orders separately which is a poor use of time. Also took about 10 to 15 minutes for a bottle of prosecco ordered and paid for at the bar to arrive. Only reason we decided not to remove the service charge was because it isn't the waitresses fault if there are insufficient staff when so many tables are booked.
