The Beaches Guest House

Disappointed after reading good reviews, no kerb appeal - overgrown weeds and basically a bit run down. Rooms basic which is fine but our headboard was broken, toilet roll holder had fell off wall and been reattached in a different place leaving an unpainted square with a hole! Bathroom dark depressing and dated. Shower whilst good was covered in mould around bottom and hot water coming out of cold water tap in sink. Host friendly and accommodating but breakfast also a let down, bacon really fatty and undercooked and plate swimming in water from mushrooms. Place just missing a bit of tlc in my opinion but I'm sure others love it.

Tamsin was so friendly and incredibly helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. I couldn't fault the place.

The hotel wad very dated and basic, extremely uncomfortable bed, we had a sea view which we looked forward to but didn't realise we we're in the attic for this so had nearly 50 steps to our room which wasn't easy! On check out was told we could not pay bay card so had to go out looking for a cash machine this would have been useful to know at booking. On a positive the hosg was very friendly and helpful and ghr breakfast was lovely 😃

Really good location, spotless and a excellent breakfast each morning. We had a large, comfortable bedroom with an amazing view of the abbey (room 7). Tamzin is very friendly and helpful - nothing is too much trouble. We were given a parking permit for the duration of our stay. Will definitely go back - Anne and Steve.

12/10 tamsin was an amazing lady very very friendly nothing to much trouble very knowledgeable on whitby and places to eat breakfast excellent we are going back in may Thankyou Tamsin nigel and mandy
