The Royal Sea Aquarium Resort

Stunning.

This property is just fine if you are looking for a no-frills stay. If you are looking for luxury, this isn't the place to stay. I wasn't expecting luxury by any means but I am very surprised that this is property is part of a timeshare-like program given how many updates it needs. Cons: Plumbing issues (lots of plunging needed) inability to control the temperature in suites, and overall very dated. Even though we weren't there to watch TV, for travelers who want to catch up on the news, no real way to do so. The TV is our room barely worked. Pros: For Travelers needing a kitchen, this place has everything you need. Also, the shuttle to the grocery store and to the downtown area are probably the most appealing amenity give how expensive taxis can be in Curacao. It is VERY quiet so good place for relaxing. Great ocean views, very close to a very nice beach and lots of great restaurants in the general vicinity. There is nice restaurant on the property (the food is delicious) but it's not affiliated with the property so you can't charge anything to your room which isn't a big deal. Depending on how long you are staying though, you may get tired of the same menu if you don't want to venture out. My stay was absolutely fine for the amount of days I was here and for the type of trip I was on but I would not stay here again. Staff was friendly for the most part, one staff member in particular almost discouraged our group from going into the city by sharing a lot of inaccurate information about the area we were going, he also wasn't helpful with making any suggestions for an alternative. I am glad we ignored him, went and had a great time without any issues/traffic/over crowing, or any of the ridiculous things he mentioned. There are ZERO frills on this property so don't expect any. Overall, this property doesn't meet my personal standards so I will not ever stay here again but it wasn't a total disaster.

Our family of 4, with 2 college kids thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Sea Aquarium Resort! The staff could not have been more helpful and so nice! The front desk staff were very attentive. There is plenty to do here. We did the Tugboat snorkel trip with Irie tours, which was great! We also took advantage of the other daily activities arranged by the resort, and enjoyed those as well. The pool was very peaceful with plenty of longes and covered places to sit. The bartenders were friendly and the drinks were yummy. The beach also had plenty of places to lounge. My daughter snorkeled from the beach and saw lots of fish and squid. You are also in the perfect location to walk to Mambo Beach, with lots of places to shop and eat. The restaurant at the resort had the kindest staff as well! Overall, I think this may be my favorite resort we’ve ever stayed at. I highly recommend staying here and if we get the chance to return to Curaçao we will definitely stay here again!
