Dormy House Hotel

We spent 3 nights at this lovely spa/resort/premium hotel in Broadway. The room was spacious and nicely decorated. There was a sliding door to an outside patio with a table and chairs making it a nice spot for a morning cup of tea or an afternoon of reading. The spa is very welcoming with lots of offerings. There is a steam room, sauna, snow room, hot tub, indoor pool, wave massager, and lots of services. They also have a decent size room with lots of windows in the spa area with cozy chairs and couches for one to lounge in and enjoy a peaceful spot after a service. The common areas and restaurant are comfortably decorated. The restaurant serves good food for breakfast and dinner but the service can be quite slow. Very welcoming staff all around. Great stay. Highly recommend.

I went to Dormy House Hotel for lunch. The food was delicious. The atmosphere and surroundings were very peaceful and relaxing. My only grouch would be that my lunch plates were taken away as soon as I had finished eating and I was asked to pay before I had finished my drink, making me feel as though I wasn't welcome and they wanted me to leave. Not the sort of service you would expect from this sort of hotel.

I have been a loyal guest of Dormy House for years, ever since treating my mother to a stay following the loss of my father. It has held a special place in my heart thanks to its warm hospitality, attention to detail, and tranquil charm. Sadly, that long-standing impression has been completely shattered by my recent experience. A year ago, I booked a special offer advertised on the Dormy House website for a group of four. The package included dinner at MO (valued at £120pp), an overnight stay, and breakfast. Months later, I was contacted and told there had been a pricing error. I was asked to pay the full price or cancel. After some back-and-forth, Dormy acknowledged the error was theirs and confirmed they would honour the booking in full. This week, I contacted the hotel to ensure all reservations were in order. To my astonishment, I was told that MO was now fully booked and we would be moved to the Backgarden restaurant instead, with a reduced dinner allowance of £40pp. This is not remotely equivalent to the original Chef’s Table experience we had booked and paid for. When I expressed that this significant downgrade was unacceptable, I was offered the option for two of us to dine at MO and two in the Backgarden – a completely unrealistic and frankly absurd suggestion for a group travelling to celebrate a special occasion. Alternatively, we were invited to cancel. At no point was any meaningful effort made to bridge the substantial difference in value or to take responsibility for the disruption. An apology was only offered after I highlighted its absence. For a hotel I once considered the gold standard in customer service, this was truly disappointing. The entire experience felt dismissive and lacking in any of the care or professionalism I had previously come to associate with Dormy. Regretfully, I will not be returning, and I can no longer recommend Dormy House to others.

I am absolutely appalled with the service from Dormy house. I am due to be staying at the hotel in June as a group of 4, 2 bookings for 2 people. We booked this trip in May and booked the MO experience package which includes the MO tasting menu. All 4 member of the booking have booked a spa treatment today and during the conversations about us being a group we have discovered that the hotel have overbooked the MO restaurant so had re booked 2 guest from our party into the garden restaurant and allocated them a £40 allocation towards dinner. The hotel have not contacted us about this and we have only found out by chance. We have been in touch with the general manager to discuss the matter as the MO chefs table experience is £120 per person and therefore a £40 allocation in the other restaurant does not compare. We have been told that there is no other option and we either accept that or cancel our stay. I was so looking forward experiencing the MO experience and having a stay at the hotel with a group of friends who I rarely get chance to see and this trip has now been completely ruined. the general manager made no apology and no attempt to resolve the matter with us. We will be advising our friends of this poor service and have been put of from staying in the future. extremely disappointed!

Delicious food, would highly recommend the monkfish and prawn Thermidor. Absolutely delicious. Souffle to start melted in the mouth. Quite expensive for the two of us, but good for a special occasion. Am planning to return soon for a family event in June.

We had a wonderful, two night, relaxing stay at the Dormy House. Our room was luxurious and so comfortable, the hotel decor is stylish, yet homely. The spa is beautiful and well appointed. The food was amazing and the staff made us feel very welcome. We didn't want to leave and would love to return.
