Langdale Chase Hotel

I see my report on the extremely poor breakfast we were served on the Monday morning after Father's Day and the sandwich selection at lunchtime has been mysteriously taken down. Even though a posted a very good report on the bedroom we had.

50th birthday, wanted a small celebration at the Langdale Chase. Lunch on the terrace, full sun. Boats going by, wonderful. Staff on hand all the time, unfailingly polite and nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and drinks we had. Too much to list… Then we went on the hotel’s private boat, which is available for lake tours at a small cost. The boat has been lovingly restored and it was a pleasure to sail up and down Windermere in. It was comfortable, relaxing and had great viewpoints. There were 2 members of staff on board that day, one piloting and one dealing with the passengers. Both gentlemen had excellent knowledge of the boat and the lake, and sadly the time flew in and we were back at the hotel. I have been lucky enough to sail on Windermere for 40 years, and I can say this was my favourite way to see it. We will be back on board as long as it is there. It was a great finish to a great day. If you visit the Langdale Chase, then enjoy all it has to offer - including their boat. It’s now our go to place on Windermere.

We took the Albatross that is a 1928 wooden yacht from Langdale Chase. It may seem expensive but is worth every penny. Fantastic crew Pete and Rob made it very special. We had an amazing time. The lads were very knowledgeable and the champagne was served ice cold in a lovely glass. Unique thing to do on Windermere.

Overall we had a wonderful stay. The hotel building inside and out, plus the location were truly stunning. The decor was beautifully chosen and our room was amazing and we could not fault it, including stunning views and a balcony. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed the breakfast and dinners, we thoroughly enjoyed our service from Martin with his lovely sense of humour. We took the hotel’s own boat around the lake which was superbly hosted by Rob and Pete. The only negatives were that the rooms were not cleaned on two days and the final bill was incorrect by a considerable amount and had to be amended.

Lovely luxurious hotel. Fantastic view of lake Windermere. We did an afternoon boat ride on their boat The Albatros. Captain and skipper were very informative and friendly. And the views from the lake were stunning. A must do if you are in the area.

We spent the afternoon celebrating our Sons 21st Birthday starting with the Albatros Midday Voyage then the Afternoon Tea. Both experiences were wonderful. Rob and Pete really did make the cruise an unforgettable experience with their knowledge of both the boat and the lake, and their humour and engaging personalities.
