Natura Treescape Resort

We stayed in one of the "tree house" rooms. We arrived early in the day and got wristbands for the facility but was too early for a room. We enjoyed both the swimming holes despite the awkward layout of the property. When it can time to cleanup before dinner, we encountered four out of the six bathrooms with feces and clogged toilets. We called the front desk to alert them. After returning from dinner, the six bathrooms were not in much better state. In the morning I waited with my kids in a 20 minute line to pee and was also faced with disgusting bathrooms. We camp in state parks, county parks, and private campgrounds, and have never felt such disgusting conditions. Management is off-site and in my opinion absentee. There are some positives to this resort, but the completely inadequate sanitation and absentee management makes this a "never again" for me. Also, the neighbors smoking joints at 10am make this not a kid friendly establishment.

We stayed in a treehouse unit for a weekend and the units themselves were very basic - a single room with a queen/bunk beds and a TV/microwave/fridge. That was about it, but it was really all we needed. Decor was extremely simple - the walls were bare wood frames and there were a few 'funny' signs about banning girls (not that funny to me). Bathrooms were communal but decently sized and included private showers. They were reasonably clean all though one was totally clogged (we saw a staff member cleaning it the next morning). The sleep was fine - one of my kids complained about the bed being firm, and it also stayed quite warm/humid even with the AC. There is NO insulation, which also means you can hear every word of your neighbors all night. It rained overnight which was also pretty loud, but it did stay dry. The general area was nice - a bit like a campground with lots of families, a little lagoon/waterfall and a mini waterpark. Lots of people enjoyed the firepits each night. The main check in building also had a pool/hot tub/sauna and the staff did explain all the amenities for us. Basically for us it was just a place to sleep, and we mainly wanted to take advantage of the tickets to Natura and Timbavati. But as a hotel, it's pretty basic.

First thing , I never write reviews..but i was very very disappointed. The Natura treescape hotel is a old hotel that was reopened ,under this name.. the rooms as less than average, the front desk service less than average. Please stay elsewhere , BUT make sure to visit Land of Natura..it was awesome. This hotel absolute PASS.. please note i did NOT stay in a tree house only the actual hotel.

To start off, I do not write negative reviews often, and even when I have a negative experience, I try to work it out before I post anything like this. We had prepaid for a 2 night stay. My kids were having a blast. Unfortunately while we were at the water park, I got a call from my mom's hospice nurse that her condition had taken a sudden turn for the worse and that we should get there. While my husband packed up the room, I went to the front desk to explain the situation. Knowing we'd prepaid and it was nonrefundable, I asked if they could give us our second night as a credit, so we could come back later this summer. I was told that I "should have let them know before 10:30". I showed the woman at the desk the voicemail from my mom's nurse, timed at 2:17, and asked how I could possibly have let them know by 10:30 when I got the call after 2. They told me they couldn't do anything. There was ZERO empathy or sympathy - they didn't even say they were sorry that they couldn't do anything. This was astonishingly poor customer service. They clearly just don't care. If they'd given us credit for our second night, we probably would have come back and stayed 2 nights - giving them even more money. I never would have left a review mentioning this if we had better customer service, but its also worth noting that the pictures of the rooms online are either heavily photoshopped or 20 years old. The rooms are small, dark, and dated. My kids loved the bunk beds though! Needless to say we will not be back - there are plenty of options in the Dells and this was just bafflingly bad customer service.

I have never written a negative review about any business, ever but because our experience was so horrible, if my review can help prevent one family from experiencing anything like my family did, then it is worth it. Here is a list of all of the issues and struggles we had to deal with in the 3 days and two nights that we stayed at Natura Resort: *our rooms were not ready at check in time *we were overcharged, there were a total of 4 families in our group, we were told our rooms would be together, they were not.....they were not even in the same building *all 4 families reserved the same room and was told a price, that price was only given to two of the four families, I was charged $110 more than my friends for the exact same room *no working elevator *no carts *no freezer and a fridge that did not work *BUGS *no lock on our door *being misinformed of pool hours *the front desk would only give my kids and I ONE blanket, even though I had two kids with me and the 3 of us were sleeping in 3 separate beds *dirty room and bathroom, there was sand in out tub *our room STUNK and one of our friend's room stunk SO bad the office staff brought them an air purifier to put in it THE BIGGEST ISSUE WAS THE OFFICE STAFF, ESPECIALLY THE MANAGER JULIET. They were rude, disrespectful, they had horrible attitudes and never did anything to try to better any of the unacceptable situations. While we were there we read a lot of reviews that mentioned a lot of the same concerns that we had, it is just unfortunate we did not tread them before we booked our trip there. To top it off, this hotel was not cheap, I paid over $350 a night for a queen bed and a bunkbed, if I would of known what I know now, I wouldn't have paid $40 a night. This hotel is a disgrace and should be shutdown.

We stayed in the hotel for a family vacation. When I booked the room, I was exciting because it said the property had numerous pools, hot tubs and the two outdoor water areas. I was thinking it’s a brand new resort this is going to be awesome! Boy was I wrong. The hotel is not new and the pools and hot tubs are something you would find at an 80’s Holiday Inn (complete with wood paneling and all). The outdoor hot tub was on the corner of a busy intersection(based on how the hotel sits) and there are weeds and trash all along the fence as you hear the cars drive by . All of the pool areas just gave me the creeps because they were dated and just had a dirty feel to them. The hotel needs work- the hallways are dark, dated and dirty feeling. I looked at the same cobwebs everyday I was there. The rooms while they might of looked clean and could have been, I just couldn’t get the kinda dirty feeling out of my mind, as the feel of the hallway kinda set the tone for me. The lagoon/kids area felt kinda gross too, I get it’s a “pond” but it just had that gross feeling. The location was fine, we did not interact with the employees at all. If I were to go back I would stay someplace else.
