Ye Olde Talbot Hotel by Greene King Inns

Great Sunday roast.The staff especially Laila were attentive and helpful when asked about gluten free options The food was plentiful and well cooked.

The price I paid for my room and including breakfast was under £15. Consequently I was not expecting much. I parked in nearby King Street Car Park and walked to the hotel. The reception was not staffed so I followed instructions and pressed a button to get a member of staff. He soon appeared and checked me in and gave me my room key. I went upstairs to my room. From the exterior the hotel does not look especially ancient- but it clearly is from the interior layout. My room wasn't especially big but for a single it was more than adequate. It was ensuite and had a bath- the glass screen did not stop some water going on the floor when I had a shower. The shower jet was very powerful- like a fire hose. Really good. The bedroom was dated (as the hotel/pub is in general- ready for Greene King to do a refurb?) but it was well equipped with TV , tea/coffee, hairdryer, plenty of sockets and, vitally , a fan. It was extremely hot in the room and the two windows had secondary double glazing and did not appear to open With the fan on 3 all night I managed to sleep. One improvement- use more powerful lightbulbs as the reading light was to dim. Worcester was a delight to explore and the pub is in an excellent location near the Cathedral. Next morning I went down for breakfast and helped myself to orange juice and coffee. I was served with a full English breakfast nicely presented and nicely cooked. A credit to whoever was in the kitchen on such a hot morning! So to sum up I was very happy with my stay- such a bargain and I would definitely return both to this hotel and the wonderful city of Worcester.

Manager Lorna could not be more helpful and it's clear she is passionate about her role and looking after guests. Lovely staff & tasty food. Very handy for the Cathedral & shops! We have visited here previously, but I forgot to take photos of Ye Olde Talbot this time, so I've just included a couple of the cathedral and nearby river!

A nice Green King Hotel / Pub just across the road from Worcester Cathedral. Acceptable food and drinks selection. In itself, nothing special, just an ok place for a pint and something to eat.

came in with my family, great choices on the menu, and a great kids menu that is really good value, laila was our server who was very lovely and polite, spoke to the manager lorna about rooms as they are also a hotel, she was very polite and friendly and made us feel really welcome, tall the staff were very friendly and polite and we will be back again soon. thank you tp you all
