Mont-Sant

Booked into the restaurant for a two night stay. Had dinner the first night which was inedible. The menu was totally weird! One starter was pigs ears with raw prawns! All MAIN courses were served cold straight from the refrigerator, scallops, prawns, foie gras. We have eaten in many high end Spanish restaurants including 3 star michelin but never experienced anything like this. Although the two staff serving on the night were very polite there didn't seem to be any supervisory management around which you would expect for a four star hotel. We left the restaurant after just having the starters and cancelled our second nights booking.

Fabulous stay The check in was fabulous and we had a lovely room (Room 1) that actually has a kettle! We had a terrace with views of Xativa Castle and also the town and valley, all framed by pine and cypress trees. Deb had injured her knee so was able to sit on the terrace, read her book and chill as we watched the sunset. We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel and the breakfast was fabulous and we ate far too much delicious food. After breakfast I had a wander around the grounds. The views really were spectacular, especially with the early morning mist, and you could see sections of the town walls stretching from the valley up to the castle. We ate one dinner in the hotel as Deb had already perused the menu, although I was somewhat sceptical. There were weird things like sea urchin, pig's ear, lamb gizzards and duck liver but I opted for sea bass and Deb had rabbit lasagna. The food was just magnificent. Right from the bread and olive oil, with the type of oil and its characteristics being explained to the main course and desserts there was nothing I could improve upon. I had two desserts - a cheesecake and a hazelnut mousse and both were fabulous. We left feeling full but not bloated, a lovely way to round off Deb's birthday. Our room was fabulously quiet, service throughout the hotel was impeccable, the room had modern heating/cooling if needed and a modern bathroom. En mi opinión un hotel muy bien dirigido , buena gastronomía y habitaciones geniales un lugar para repetir , El director Javier muy atento con todos los detalles , nos gustó mucho el trato recibido , todos están para servir a los clientes , la comida nos encantó y el.lugar es muy bonito .

Amazing

La habitación proporcionada era insalubre: sucia, olor a cloaca y a fritura del restaurante. Ruido excesivo ya que estaba a puerta abierta del restaurante y cocina. El olor de la cocina entraba a la habitación. No quisieron entrar a comprobarlo. Nos pudimos ir a otra pagando más de lo pagado con antelación de 1 mes. Según nos dijo como cerraban en dos días... Mala experiencia .
