"On the last weekend of August, our family planned a road trip to Xingcheng.
Transportation: The navigation was direct. Enter the Xingcheng Sanatorium of the Ministry of Railways, and drive another 500-600 meters. It's 5 kilometers from the beach, 2 kilometers from Dongshan Market, and 3 kilometers from Xingcheng Ancient City. All are quite convenient.
The check-in experience was excellent. The front desk staff were very attentive. Upon learning we were driving, they specially changed our room to one with convenient parking and a separate courtyard gate. It had a keypad lock, allowing us to enter and exit directly without going through the hotel corridor.
The room was spacious. We chose a loft family room with a private hot spring bath. Three sets of toiletries, towels, bath towels, and slippers were provided. Several times before, hotels only provided two sets of amenities, so this was a thoughtful touch.
The mattress was very comfortable, and two types of pillows were provided, which was perfect for someone like me with back and neck problems. The blankets were dry and not damp.
The only downside was the room layout; it felt a bit stuffy upstairs after the air conditioning was on for a while. However, we noticed it the next morning, so we're not sure if it was due to the exhaust fan. I noticed it when I turned on the light from the ceiling.
The breakfast was small and exquisite; the selection seemed limited, but it had almost everything you'd expect, and the taste was quite good, with very fresh fruit.
There's a side gate in the park where you can go out for a morning market; the peaches I bought there were especially delicious. There's also a seafood stall. Overall, I really enjoyed it.
Special thanks to the receptionist on duty that day; she was attentive and welcoming, and the restaurant she recommended was also very good. I arrived around noon, checked in, and was about to go eat, wanting to fill the hot spring water beforehand to cool it down before soaking. Due to a short power outage for maintenance, the water was filled 15 minutes earlier than scheduled, and she specifically called to let me know.
There was a 200 yuan deposit for the room. At check-out, I was told I could leave immediately; the room check would take about ten minutes, no waiting required, and the deposit would be refunded. It was refunded shortly after I drove out.
Finally, let me talk about the hot springs. I heard Xingcheng hot springs are salty, and after licking one, it was indeed salty! 🤣 I slept wrong before leaving, and my neck and back hurt. I don't know if it was just psychological, but after soaking in the hot springs at noon, the three of us were so tired in the afternoon that we all fell asleep. When we woke up, the pain in our necks and backs seemed to have eased (or maybe the bed was just too comfortable). 🤓"
