"Downside was limited parking. We were sent to a nearby car park which offered all day parking. Problem was it ran out at 8am. On returning to the hotel after parking was informed by another guest that there was a QR code at the car park which you could use as part of the hotel? We ended up paying almost £40 for parking for one night stay. Anyone booking please check with reception regards where the QR is"

"We had a great stay in ibis York. The hotel was spacious and clean. We have a double bed and 2 single beds. Perfectly fit our family of 4. Toilet was clean too. Seems like they just refurbished the hotel, very new. Just that the hotel is quite a distance from the railway. 10 to 15min walk."

"Convenient location, spacious apartment, clean rooms and good working order kitchen but if there is a bigger TV with Netflix that would be more enjoyable, also the bathroom mirror quite small, the bath tub is high and deep ( difficult in and out ) if you’re over 67, I would prefer walk in shower. Overall its lovely apartment"

"We have a great 2 night break at this hotel, it is stunning and clean inside, and a short walk to the town centre. The rooms were quite far away being in the sidings but it was still good for what we needed. Lovely tipi area with bar outside is a very nice additional touch. We will definitely be returning!"

"I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton York for a short visit and, while the location was reasonably convenient, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a Hilton-branded hotel. I was upgraded to a room located across the car park from the main building, accessed via stairs and without central heating. Instead, the room relied on standing portable heaters, which wasn’t ideal — especially given the wet weather and the need to walk outside to reach the room. The room itself felt quite tired and dated, with noticeably creaky floorboards both inside the room and from neighbouring rooms, which made it hard to fully relax. The location is decent enough, but if you’re travelling by public transport there are better areas of York to stay in that offer easier access and a nicer overall setting. I didn’t try the breakfast, as there are plenty of good local options nearby, which I enjoyed instead, so I don’t feel I missed out. One small disappointment was that coffee wasn’t available outside of breakfast hours. Overall, with so many good accommodation options in York, I’m not likely to stay here again."
