Baymont by Wyndham Yreka

"The Good": Baymont is an OK hotel that has interior hallways for the price in the immediate area . The bedding was clean, and the staff was friendly. It is next to the Black Bear Diner that, in my opinion, offers above average meals, so that is plus. "The Bad": It was not the worst place I have stayed at in the area, but it is pretty dated and appears "well lived in" (I stayed at another competitor's hotel a few blocks away that also has interior hallways a few weeks earlier, a stay that prompted me to try the Baymont... you can connect the dots). Although the grounds and room were so-so clean, it is evident that occasional deep cleaning is rarely done. "The Ugly": There were no usb ports to charge electronics, a lamp was unplugged and inoperative due to the knob of the switch was missing. The shower wall had a hole in it, and sink had a crack (was not linking). I had to plug in the alarm clock and set the time. The TV was small and had mediocre reception on half the channels. The ice machine in the hallway was inoperative, and the in-room phone had a red light blinking, but the phone had no index overlay giving directions on how to access any messages, call the front desk, etc. Outdoor security cameras appear to be non-operative with wires that have been cut. The breakfast is subpar with other hotels. Except for bagels and a toaster, the hot breakfast consists of microwavable packets for items such as a sausage/egg muffin or a sugar-coated waffle. In summary, although the Baymont is not perfect, it is better than other cheap motels that are in the area that cost much less. And unless you want to spend approximately an additional $50 to $100 for a room with potentially better facilities, amenities and reviews, this is one of your better options for a hotel in Yreka that has interior hallways. You will save a $100 or so, but you will have to put up with imperfections of the Baymont that come with the savings.

Hotel hell It was horrible all the way around. We got there at 215 and the ladies said, we could pay $50 for an early check-in. I told her no, she told me check-in was 3 o'clock. We left and came back at 3. They tried to give us a room on the 2nd floor I had requested a room on the bottom floor I can't do stairs and I'm a senior so then they said the room would not be ready until to 3:30 . So we paid for bottom floor room and two queen beds,.And we got she said, we got an upgrade 2 double beds on the bottom floor.. At 11 o'clock, a homeless person was knocking on the door we called the office and the guy said, oh I thought she looked strange. The TV didn't work right the lady cat that worked there. She was being very nice.... Had coffee in the morning at the breakfast bar and it was like dirty water...... It was quite the experience. I will never go back.Horrible service horrible everything they need to clean that place up It was quite the experience. I will never go back. Horrible service, horrible, everything they need to clean that place up. And they rent the swimming pool out to the public. For parties $,12 a child. And I had no idea that we'd be swimming with a bunch of kids. They don't even live there. It's a long before that. They should let people know when they booked the reservation. They rent the pool out to kids. That was very disappointing.

Staff was very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and quiet. We would stay here again.
