Yuanyang Yunshang Homestay

If you are looking for an unique stay and experience "Hani" culture, I would highly recommend staying with the family. When I arrived, the host invited me for a hike through the ricefields to see the sunset, and afterwards I joined the family for a traditional dinner with local dishes, straight from their own garden. Especially as a solo traveller, I felt at home instantly and they will do everything to make your stay comfortable. The food is delicious, the room was spotless, and the host can recommend great places for hiking. Don't forget their delicious coffee and tea! One minor thing, when you go back to Kunming by bus, just make sure that the host reserves the bus ticket. I unexpectely had to change buses in Yuangyang because it was full. I would definitely come back, and their homestay is one of my highlights in China. Thank you again for the memorable stay and for welcoming me with open arms. See you next time!

We loved our stay, very cozy. The hosts were very helpful and friendly. He suggested us a lot of tracking trails and helped us to find a taxi for our back home. We enjoyed the view of the rice terrace a few steps outside. We recommend it.

I spent 2 nights there. Very peaceful and quiet. Fantastic views of sunrise on the rice fields within a short walking distance. The view from my room was amazing. The facilities are more than adequate.The hospitality and generosity of the owner is outstanding. One of the highlights of the stay was going to the local market. Highly recommended to get away from crowds and experience local hospitality and culture.

We had such a wonderful stay in this guesthouse! The rooms are big, clean and with a big bathroom with hot water. The location is wonderful, all the ancient tree rooms having a nive view over the rice fields. The place is very quiet and peaceful at night, and very close to a nice spot that the owner will show you to see the sunset. You have a few options around to eat at any time of the day. The family who runs the place is very nice and helpful to organise your days in the area or the next step of your journey in China. This place is definitely worth a stop and will add something more to your stay in this wonderful area.

Incredibly kind and friendly hosts. The room was extremely clean and had everything you need. The hosts were so helpful in recommending hikes and places to go. One of the hosts speaks English and was super helpful for me as a foreign traveller. The hotel is in the perfect location for seeing everything in the area.

Very clean room, conveniently located right in front of the terrace. Great photos. For foreign guests looking for coffee and the usual morning fare, there is a coffee shop within 4 minutes of walking. This was a very nice place to retreat to for a few days of crisp, mountain air, solitude and great hiking.....and beautiful photography, especially if you have a drone
