Sofia's Hotel

Overpriced. Would only recommend if you are age 60+. Drink weren't great but food I would not complain. Not clean at all as the floors where dirty the entire stay and sheets were not changed everytime. I had to buy bleach myself as the bathroom stank to then find the toilet brush holder had a puddle of urine!! A couple staff very friendly others...not so much as they enjoyed glaring over and giggling while talking greek. Didn't make a great first impression telling us "sorry reception is closed" The shop on the other hand was amazing with great staff and prices! Even the people who stayed clearly didn't enjoy us staying as we'd have funny looks everytime we'd go to the pool. I have came to kalamaki for 12 years now and this is the only disappointing experience I have had.

Definitely not the best hotel some of the staff are lovely but the rest are rude, didn’t clean the floors at all the whole time we had been there also some of the bar staff were talking and giggling about us in Greek will not be coming back only thing that was worth it was the food

We’ve just returned from a 4 night stay at Sofias. Check in was quick and we were shown to our rooms after a quick drink stop. Our room was big and spacious. We had no issues. There was a kettle in the cupboard and mugs, I bought the coffee so I was good! As mentioned shower has no shower curtain but just close the bathroom door- no issues. Air con is €12 per night and we also paid for a late check out. 5pm check out was €45 - we had a 9pm flight so decided it was decent to be able to chill for our last day. Pool had a good atmosphere where you could get some food and a drink - all reasonably priced. The staff are brilliant here. Please remember this is a basic hotel, so when booking please don’t expect the ritz, but it’s clean and friendly and does exactly what it advertises! Would I come back - yes! :) Thank you for a wonderful holiday!

We booked Sofia’s for 2 nights as we couldn’t find accommodation for 7 nights last minute so moved during the week. Having visited Sofias pool and bar previously we decided to book the room as the pool bar has always been great. We always research hotels so knew we weren’t going to the ritz. However I think there’s better basic hotels to book. The room was small but it was clean. It was very hot so air con was needed, a bit pricey at €12 a night and on the last night it stopped working. It also didn’t work amazingly the rest of the time. We did mention the aircon at check out and was offered a refund for it not working. The biggest downside to the room was the bathroom, as others have said no shower curtain. It is basically just a tray in the corner. Strangely no bin in the room either. The pool area and bar are good. Plenty of sunbeds and great service. There plenty of choice on three menu but not the cheapest pool bar. It did get a bit rowdy with certain guests but day drinking and being loud is some people’s holiday and the hotel cannot control who books to stay, Overall it was ok, I had higher expectations of basic given the cost but for 2 nights it was ok. I was glad we hadn’t booked the full week and greatful for a decent shower once we moved.

My wife and I had a very relaxing stay here in June. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The pool area is kept very clean as are the gardens. The cleaners come in every day and make the beds and clean everything properly. We had breakfast every day by the pool and Helene who runs the bar was an excellent hostess. Sofias is well positioned on the main ***** in Kalamaki and nothing is too far away.This was our second stay here and we will definitely be going back again.

The room we had, on the ground floor, was very small. The towels and bed linen were old, stained and grey. Beds are rock hard. Self catering aspect was made more difficult as access to the sink was hampered by a wall cupboard. The cleaners were impatient in the morning, couldn't wait for us to leave the room. There was no sun on our balcony at just about any time of day. The sun beds are very close each other. On a positive the staff at the hotel are very friendly .
