"Close to the train station. Although I got an upgrade to a double room, it was small (the table in front of the bed takes a lot of space). The bathroom was big and clean but outdated. The balcony was nice but not really needed in winter.
Everyone can enter the ski room and the individual locker cannot be locked. Perfect for thieves."
"A very pleasant hotel in Zermatt, very design, the front desk is very warm, take the initiative to take you to the room to introduce various facilities. There was a fog on the day of the trip, I didn't see the top of the mountain, but the snow that woke up the next morning made my son very happy. The breakfast was very rich and you could order a single egg and waffles or something. The room facilities were also very good, there was a small fireplace, and it was very warm in winter. There is an open-air pool on the first floor of the hotel, and the feeling of ice and fire is still very exciting. There is a hockey court at the door. The children are practicing hockey early in the morning. It is fun to watch it next to it."
"For a truly memorable stay in Zermatt, look no further than the Traditional Julen Hotel. We travelled throughout Switzerland, and the view from our Matterhorn room was hands down the best we experienced. Waking up to that iconic peak every morning was simply breathtaking.
The service at the Julen is impeccable. The staff is incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to meet every need we had, making us feel truly welcome. Speaking of needs, be sure to grab a bite at their downstairs restaurant. The food is excellent, though the space is a little on the cozy (some might say claustrophobic) side. Don't let that deter you, though - the culinary experience is well worth it.
Overall, the Traditional Julen Hotel is a fantastic choice. Splurge on the Matterhorn room for an unforgettable view, and rest assured knowing you'll be taken care of by a truly exceptional team. Highly recommended!"

"Room heater not working, 1 of the staff provide a portable heater and friendly... The hotel shoe need charges but we not taken, after that say free to us but once open is like a dirty and old 😤No quality checking..."
"Perfect hotel. Thanks to Laginabel for providing us with perfect service and upgrading us to a large apartment with a view of the Matterhorn. Here is a summary of the hotel's features:
1. The hotel is very close to Zermatt Station and View Point. It is very convenient to walk there with a suitcase in about 5 minutes. The hotel also provides a free short-term bus (Zermatt's unique battery car).
2. The hotel itself has first-class facilities, especially the new building No. 3 where we stayed this time. The view is also perfect. You can see the view of the view point from the hotel balcony. The spa facilities are also brand new. There are two outdoor swimming pools, one with a higher water temperature and the other with a slightly lower temperature. Both have surfing and massage functions.
3. The hotel service is first-class. When we checked in, the front desk lady personally took us to the room and gave us a Rome tour. The breakfast is also the most abundant in this trip, with fresh smoked salmon sashimi, various hams, cold cuts, fruits and vegetables are all fresh, and there is homelet.
4. The free bus stop of Zermatt Town is right in front of the hotel, which can go anywhere, including Glacier Paradise, Five Lakes Cable Car Station and Negrat Line Train Station."
"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The excellent service rendered by the staff made our honeymoon much sweeter. Everyone was friendly, kind and always willing to help. Room was really nice and the extra sauna and open concept bathtub was a nice surprise! Breakfast spread was super delicious as well. Facilities like the wellness area include foot bath, infrared chairs, jacuzzi etc."
"Everything was good at this hotel except the automatic lights sensor which has a very annoying sound throughout our stay.
Other than this, all’s well when it comes to the location, wifi was stable, room design and scenic views from the balcony were as reflected on the website and not forgetting, the complimentary shuttle to train station.
Thanks for the great service, strongly recommended."
"Access from Zermatt station requires climbing a steep hill, so dragging a large suitcase was a bit of a challenge. The staff were kind and flexible with early morning check-out. The room was very spacious and clean, and the view from the balcony was amazing. The only amenities were body soap, but I brought my own shampoo and other items, so it wasn't a problem. The water pressure in the shower was also fine. I had a very comfortable stay. If I had more time, I would have liked to stay longer."
"The service here are the best. The staff are very lovely and super nice. The beds are very comfy. Very satisfied with this hotel. Would recommend this hotel if you’re looking for an accommodation in Zermatt."

Amazing
SStellakwansyStaying at this hotel in Zermatt was an unforgettable experience! The location is perfect—just 500 meters from the train station, making it incredibly convenient. The highlight of my stay was the warm hospitality from the owners, Thor and Michele. They personally served the buffet breakfast every morning, which was both delicious and thoughtfully prepared. On my first day, I unfortunately missed breakfast, but as I was heading out around 10:45 am, they surprised me by reserving some food for me to enjoy before leaving. It was such a thoughtful and touching gesture that truly made me feel cared for.
The room itself was immaculate and had everything I needed. The balcony offered a stunning mountain view, which was a perfect way to start and end each day. Thor and Michele went above and beyond to make me feel like a VIP throughout my stay. They remembered my name, attended to every need, and even took the time to explain the local attractions and recommend food options based on my preferences.
I feel incredibly lucky to have secured two nights at this gem of a hotel, especially since it’s almost always fully booked. This was one of the most personal and heartwarming stays I’ve ever had. If you’re visiting Zermatt, staying here is an absolute must. Thank you, Thor and Michele, for making my trip so memorable!
AAnonymous UserMy recent stay at Hotel Parnass in Zermatt was nothing short of delightful. From the moment I arrived, the staff at the reception set the tone with her exceptional friendliness and patience, making me feel instantly at home. I had a similar experience with the staff on the night shift.
The hotel’s location is a standout feature. It’s just a 3-minute walk to the supermarket and a 5-minute stroll to the main street, where you’ll find a variety of shops and restaurants. For nature enthusiasts, the iconic Matterhorn viewpoint is a mere 20-minute walk (and climb) away.
The room was a cozy haven, perfectly insulated from the cold without ever feeling stuffy. I especially appreciated the heated shower rack, which kept my towel warm – a small but thoughtful touch. However, the bathroom is on the smaller side, which might be a tight fit for taller individuals.
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise. While simple, the variety offered made it feel sumptuous. The yoghurt stood out, and the availability of fresh fruits added a refreshing touch.
Being an older establishment, you might notice the occasional sound of water running through the pipes or the mechanical hum of the lift – a minor trade-off for the hotel’s character and charm.
Despite these quirks, Hotel Parnass has won me over. It’s an easy choice for a return visit to Zermatt, offering a warm, well-located, and comfortable stay.
GGuest UserThe best hotel I have ever stayed in during my trip to Switzerland. Take the train from zermtt and get off at Riffleberg station. After informing the hotel front desk in advance, someone will help you with your luggage. The reservation includes two meals, and the food is good. The main reason is that the scenery is really worth it, plus there are hot springs and saunas, which are very comfortable and comfortable. I recommend it as your first choice when visiting Zermatt. And after staying at this hotel, you don’t need to take a bus to the mountaintop station, because the scenery at the mountaintop station is not as good as the scenery at the hotel. I personally tested it.
GGuest UserThe Matterhornlodge is located about a 5-10 min walk from the Zermatt station.
We arrived at about 1pm and were informed that check-in was only at 2pm so we went for lunch and returned at around 2.30pm. We were greeted by Ruth, the proprietress of the hotel, who gave us a comprehensive briefing of the house rules and policies. Ruth was very warm, friendly, and charming; she was very guest-focused and was happy to find out more about where we were from and what we planned to do. Ruth even gave us recommendations for Bern when we told her we were going there next.
Although the hotel is stated to be 4 stars, we were very impressed by the room and the amenities. The bathroom came with a bidet and the toiletries provided were of good quality. The room was also very spacious with enough room to open up 2 luggage bags. The towels and robes were thick, warm, and fluffy.
The breakfast provided in the morning was also quite good with a decent selection of breads, cold cuts, cheese, and eggs.
At checkout, Ruth also gave us a complimentary ride to the train station in her electric vehicle.
All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay at the Matterhornlodge and we were very impressed by Ruth’s hospitality.
GGuest UserThe location is very close to the station, easy to reach by car, and not far from the attractions. The breakfast is simple, as you can imagine. The room is of a medium distance and can store luggage.
CChole678877This hotel has an excellent location, convenient transportation and complete surrounding facilities. The service staff are warm and attentive, making you feel like you are being cared for. The room has a wide view and picturesque scenery. It is an almost perfect accommodation experience. Highly recommended!
SSmhnI wish I was writing a glowing review for this hotel but I simply cannot as I find it inexcusable that in this day and age there was no complimentary tea/Coffee or even a kettle in the room. Secondly the breakfast was an absolute joke. Boiled eggs and slices of meat with cold bread. Utterly diaspoointing for the cost. The room itself was good and warm but had paper thin walls. I could hear every conversation in the other room and the snoring guests at night. Won't be staying again.
IIdris and HanaGreat hostel with morning Matterhorn view from our room. Delicious breakfast provided. Only that u have to arrive earlier before 7pm if planning to get a free bus ride to the hostel. Unfortunate for us, we arrive late after 10pm and no more bus available. Thus have to pull our big luggage up hill in 1km distance. But staff is good, we informed for late arrival then they pasted our envelope containing room card access infront of the door. Thanks for that. Then we asked the counter staff for bus schedule next day. Nearest bus station is Luchre, just in front of hotel. can get schedule from SBB apps (Zermat bahnof- Luchre). They also provide free luggage storage after checkout. Great experience in Zermatt and recommended hostel as long as u arrive early 😀
HHong AVery amazed by the level of automation in the hotel! Check-in was seamless even though it was just an iPad. We needed to pay a tourist tax via an online link prior to arrival but we were abit wary given the number of online scams nowadays - perhaps it’ll be better to charge everything up front?
There was free coffee available as well, which was a huge plus. The room was amazing, spotlessly clean, sufficiently big, had a balcony, comfortable bed. One of the staff (a guy) allowed us to put our luggage in the room early even though we could only encode our card after 3pm. He even helped us make a reservation at Du Pont as we didn’t have a Swiss number, thanks very much!
The hotel is a 10min walk from the main train station, though there are free buses which can shorten the journey. We just walked as it was faster.
We were in Swiss for 2 weeks and this hotel is definitely the best accommodation we had - for a very good price as well!
GGuest user123Initially I was a bit apprehensive about this hotel based on reviews but it was a good stay!! Great value for Zermatt! Walking distance about 10 mins from Zermatt station, on shopping street. Toilets and stairway up a bit small but ok for us. Luckily we were located on first floor so didn’t have to climb up too many stairs with our luggage. There’s a pizzeria below. Things to note: didn’t see a bin ( only a small one in toilet) so maybe bring your own plastic bag for a bin as well as room slippers.
Place was clean! However there’s some loud music that played even in the wee hours of the night like 3am, so if you are a light sleeper, you might need to put on some ear plugs to muffle the noise out. Nonetheless, A huge thank you for the stay. Convenient, Breakfast was awesome, simple spread but very heartwarming and the coffee was the most delicious I’ve had. It was the Easter weekend so there’s pretty Easter eggs for breakfast too! The lady owner was lovely and check in and check out was very easy and seamless. We stayed for a night and would recommend this place.
