XingYuan Hostel

I stayed at this hotel in Zhangye and had a great experience. The rooms are spacious, bright, and clean, with a good shower. Laundry is available for a small fee. The host is friendly and very helpful – she even took care of me when I was sick. They offer well-organized local tours at fair prices. The location is convenient, within walking distance to main sites and the vibrant night market, with restaurants and shops nearby, and not far from the train station – just a short ride away. Free quality tea is available all the time. Overall, a very comfortable and welcoming place to stay.

I booked a bed in the female dormitory for 2 nights, my friends booked other beds/rooms. The hostel has all the necessary amenities. There is even a washing machine if you need to do laundry. The bedding was fresh and clean. Plenty of sockets for charging devices. You will need to bring your own shower gel for the shower and the toilets are squat toilets which is standard in China. Met a lovely German girl while staying here. The host is a lovely and very helpful woman, she assisted us with any queries and even gave us some watermelon while we waited for our driver. If you want to visit any of the popular tourist spots in the Zhangye area she can organise a car tour for you and very reasonable prices- all very easy through WeChat. I visited the rainbow mountains/Zhangye National Geopark/Zhangye Danxia Geopark (张掖国家地质公园) and Mati Si temple (马蹄寺) while in Zhangye. The hostel is in a very good location too. The common area is nice and there is a tea station where you can help yourself to a cup of tea. All in all a very pleasant stay and I would stay here again.

Just love that place. The owner and her family are so nice and the rooms are clean. The location is great and we could park our motorbike just in front. Would definitely recommend.

Hostel well located a couple kms from the west and west bus station (to Danxia and Mati respectively). It's near the few attractions in Zhang Ye like the reclined Buddha temple. Big supermarket and eateries around. Cleanliness varies, it's good in the common area but lots of dust under the beds in the room. In the showers and toilets, it may be bad but that has more to do with the guests. Same with noise Free tea and hot water are provided. There are supposed to be tours to the main places around Zhang Ye but I never received the information through WeChat, as I was told when I checked in. I managed by myself.
