Hotel Casa Iturbe

The hotel is located in a pretty bad-looking area, and not what I would call all that close to either the central area or the bus terminal. Inside the secure walls, though, it's a very new and modern boutique hotel. Our room was interesting--it had no windows really, and the decor was definitely on the minimalist side. There was no heater, but a fan. It had high ceilings, but the interior walls didn't go all the way up. The sink was almost beside the bed; the free wi-fi signal didn't quite penetrate the thick walls into the room, so we had to go outside to use it. Great bed, however. Outside, the grounds were beautiful. There was a big pool and a spa, and a restaurant that seemed almost to float on the pool. A buffet breakfast was included with our room, but it was pretty average. It would have been nicer if the food didn't look like it had been sitting in the dishes a while. The fresh bread, coffee and fruit were the star of the show for me. The lady at the check-in counter was quite friendly and helpful with suggestions on dining in the area. Also very nice to call us taxis when we needed them.

My wife and I stayed at Casa Iturbe just one night, but wished it had been longer! As my review title suggests, the exterior is quite unassuming on a quiet street. Even the taxi driver commented when we were driving to the hotel that the interior is a revelation. Boy was he right. Upon entering you are greeted with a modern and clean looking reception which then leads to a beautifully landscaped interior courtyard with pool with the rooms and the dining area surrounding it. The room was large, king-sized bed comfortable, and had a vaulted ceiling. As others have commented, the breakfast was superb. Fresh bread, chilaquiles, eggs cooked to order, fruit with granola and yoghurt, coffee or tea. All delightful. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Recibimos una pésima atención en el hotel, las personas que atienden no pueden resolver, hicimos reserva de varias habitaciones y ellos las cancelaron algunas sin avisar con el pretexto del cambio de políticas tuvimos que mudarnos a otro hotel. Tengan mucho cuidado, ya que no respetan la reservaciones.
