Introduction

Siem Reap invites you to step into the mysterious and charming cooking class, unlock the Khmer food code surrounded by ancient monuments, and start a cultural journey of taste.

Course content Ancient flavor: The course market usually takes about 3 hours, focusing on traditional Khmer food, such as Khmer spring rolls, green mango salad, Amok fish, etc. You will start with market purchases, learn and check various spices, vegetables, fish and other ingredients, and feel the local life atmosphere of Cambodia. Learn the unique marinating of fish, making spring roll wraps, and the use of Khmer spices to appreciate the ancient flavor. Students will personally create 4-8 authentic Siem Reap delicacies in one class, and after the course, they can also take back detailed recipes of Khmer cuisine and share this delicious memory with their families at home.

Small class teaching and deep teaching staff: The number of students in a class is usually controlled at 6-8 people. This scale makes it easier for the chef to pay attention to all students, and students can exchange their experiences of visiting Angkor. The atmosphere is warm and harmonious, which adds to the fun of learning. Most of the chefs who teach are professional chefs, or have family inheritance, and are well versed in Khmer food culture. They use the method of telling history while making, and provide detailed guidance to let students feel the fusion of food and culture.

The facilities are full of style: The cooking venues have indoor and semi-open courtyards with a strong Khmer style. Some cooking venues also have their own vegetable gardens, where they grow many spices and vegetables used in dishes, etc. Some ingredients also come from local markets and villages, fresh and simple, and original.

The cooking experience in Siem Reap is not only a journey to learn food skills, but also a rare opportunity to gain a deep understanding of local culture and lifestyle. Whether you are a culinary novice or a food enthusiast, the courses here will provide you with a unique experience and practical skills, adding an unforgettable taste and memory to your trip.

Angkor Wat Secrets and Mysteries, Let's Dig Deeper

#asiatrip By visiting Angkor Wat, you will be able to better understand the people of Asia and their culture. It is now one of the most famous tourist attractions in all of Asia. More than two million tourists visit it every year. Angkor Wat was and remains the greatest temple in the world. Now anyone can touch the history and visit this amazing place. In fact, there are a lot of mysteries and riddles in this place. Some people believe that Angkor Wat was built on the remains of more ancient ruined buildings that have nothing to do with the Khmer. Here are several secrets that Angkor Wat keeps. 1. 320 temples of Angkor Wat correspond to the location of visible stars in the northern hemisphere of the sky, and 15 main temples of Angkor exactly repeat the location of the stars from the constellation of the Dragon. There is a theory that the ancient builders looked at the stars, and made such an exact location, 2. In the very center of the main temple there is a square perfectly aligned and exactly coinciding with the four cardinal directions. The ceiling in the temple also points to the northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest. All eight perfectly aligned lines meet on the ceiling exactly in the center of the temple, right above the square on the floor. 3. The past has left us a negligible amount of written evidence related to the history of the construction of temples in Angkor. And just to visually inspect all the sights, of those that are now found, an ordinary tourist will not have enough for a week. The reasons why the Khmers left the largest city at the mercy of the jungle about 500 years ago and left these lands are still unknown. In the 1300s, it was one of the largest cities in the world, perhaps even the largest, with up to 1 million people living in it. 4. Angkor is also called the city of the gods. Surprisingly, Khmer temples were never intended for gatherings of believers. They were built precisely as the dwelling place of the gods. 5. Each intricate carving on the walls was covered with gold sheets. To this day, you can still see a few golden spots if you look closely enough. Only recently, some of the 1796 carvings have been restored. 6. Angkor Wat has many correspondences in numbers. There are a total of 108 towers in the shape of lotus buds, a sacred number for both Hindi and Buddhists. According to Hinduism, man has an immortal soul that can roam the worlds. The three levels of the temple symbolize these worlds: lower, middle and higher. The layout of Angkor Wat reflects the Hindu cosmos itself and represents one large sacred mandala. 7. According to the Hindu cycle of development or the cosmic cycle, humanity goes through four stages: 1,728,000 years – the Age of dawn (Golden Age); 1,296,000 years – the era of stagnation; 864,000 years - the age of dusk; 432,000 years – the era of decline. In Angkor Wat, roads are built exactly according to these cycles - 1728, 1296, 864 and 432 huts (1 hut is equal to 0.5 meters).

Angkor Wat

Visiting Angkor Wat was an unforgettable experience. I was deeply impressed by the intricate details of the grand architecture and the complex inscriptions that adorned the temple. My tour started early in the morning to catch the sunrise behind the temple, which added a special charm to the scene. She explored other temples in the area, such as Bayon, famous for its giant faces. The trip was filled with history and culture as I learned about the Khmer civilization and its influence. Moving between temples through dense trees was fun, and I discovered the unique charm of each temple. Angkor Wat is truly one of the world's wonders worth visiting.

Tombraiding at the Angkor Wat 🛕

Tombraiding at the Angkor Wat 🛕

We chose the 7 day pass to the Angkor Wat, even though everyone suggested the 3 day pass would be sufficient. Do I regret it? Absolutely not. The Angkor Wat is the largest religious complex in the world and has over 1000 thousand buildings on a site of 162.6 hectares. So 7 days, to us, seemed necessary if we wanted to really explore and take it all in. Below are some suggestions. Do: ✅️ ✅️ Book on their official site before you arrive at the gate. You can take a screenshot of your ticket with picture and QR code. This will make it easier to show the guards at the complex entrances. ✅️Rent a bicycle and cycle from complex to complex. You can find bicycles to hire on the left-hand side of the road, just after you enter the main entrance. Google "Angkor Wat bicycle rental" to find the exact location on Google Maps. ✅️Take lots of water and snacks, and don't forget the sunscreen, hats, and bug spray. Dress in loose cool clothes, with comfortable shoes, and be prepared to scale some steep temple steps. Don't:❌️ ❌️ Travel in April, May, or June. It's just too hot. We were there for a month mid-May - mid-June, and the heat was unbearable at times. ❌️ Eat food that isn't thoroughly cooked. I had a medium-rare steak and learned this lesson very quickly. ❌️ Play with the monkeys, or walk close to them with anything that looks like food. They will take it from you. They grabbed our water and made a run for it🤣 Safe Travels! Explore and enjoy! 📸🎉#cambodiatrip #siemreap #siemreaptrip #angkorwat

Magnificent Angkor Wat

Magnificent Angkor Wat

City: Sien Reap, Cambodia 🇰🇭 Region: southeast Asia 🌞 Visa: yes- most passport holders need a visa to visit Cambodia. You can apply for it online and a tourist one will allow you to stay 30 days there. Transport: it’s easiest to prebook a car or tuk tuk to take you to the different ruins - they can be far apart and totally not walkable. What’s special ✨: you immediately feel the historical colour when you get there. Whether you have religious faiths or not, you feel in awe to the grand energy there, not to mention all places are great photos spots there! #angkorwat #Cambodia #ruins #Culture #asia

Angkor Wat - Siem Reap

The world famous Angkor Wat temple complex is a must-visit destination at least once in a traveler's life. Located in northern Cambodia several kilometres outside Siem Reap city, the temple complex sprawls through the Cambodian jungle. An absolute must when visiting Siem Reap is watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat. If you're a photographer, make sure to get there EARLY to secure an unobstructed shot as there can be a large crowd. There are many different temples to visit within the Angkor complex, each with their own unique characteristics. The most unique temples are: - Angkor Wat - Bayon Temple (famous for its gigantic faces) - Ta Prohm Temple - Pre Rup Temple - Neak Poun Temple With scorching temperatures, the best way to get around the area is by local tuk tuk. These can be easily organised through tour operators and hotels and your driver will drive you around for the whole day. #angkor #angkorwat #cambodia #temple #asiantraveller #asia #siemreap #createwithtrip #culturetrip

Horseback Riding

One of the best things we did in Siem Reap is Horseback Riding. It was our first time, so we are nervous and feels intense about it. The tour guides were so helpful, chill, and supportive and they are also well trained in taking care or the horses. We tour the city of Siem Reap for 1 hour and it was all worth it. We had a meaning conversation with the tour guide, it helps us calm while riding the horse. It was an unforgettable experience as a couple and Happy Ranch Horse Farm made it possible. Another check in our bucket list. #FilipinoInSiemReap #HorseBackRiding #SiemReapTrip #CoupleGoals #urbanexplorer #awesomepic # #mytripvlog#couplestrip

No history enthusiast can resist Angkor Wat

No history enthusiast can resist Angkor Wat

I took a trip to Angkor Wat during the May Day holiday without taking any extra leave, and I still haven't recovered from the awe-inspiring beauty. It's no wonder Jiang Xun visited 14 times. As soon as I left Angkor Wat, I started planning my next trip there. Here's a worker-friendly itinerary for Angkor Wat: 📍 Five days and five nights itinerary DAY0: Fly from Shanghai to Kunming at night DAY1: Fly directly from Kunming to Siem Reap - Explore Siem Reap Night Market DAY2: Angkor Wat Small Circuit (the most exhausting day) DAY3: Angkor Wat Grand Circuit - Finish around 2 PM - Visit local market - Coffee - Handicraft market - Night market shopping DAY4: Angkor Wat Outer Circuit - Banteay Srei - Beng Mealea - Leather Carving Orphanage (a must-visit for leather souvenirs, don't buy at the night market) - Tonle Sap Lake DAY5: Return home • Must-Do List ✔️ Watch a sunset at Angkor Wat 🌄 ✔️ Visit Angkor Wat in the afternoon when the lighting is good ✔️ Visit Preah Khan and Ta Som, which I personally find as impressive as the more famous Ta Prohm, especially the temple at the end of Ta Som wrapped in tree roots ✔️ Beng Mealea! A must-visit ✔️ Bayon Temple, the smile of Khmer ✔️ Ta Prohm: Filming location for 'Tomb Raider' ✔️ Drink juice! Who doesn't love $1 juice ✔️ Visit the local market Recommended by friends, I bought a lot of cheap, non-touristy fruits here and tried local sweet soup. The address is Phsar Ler Thom Tmey Market • 🇰🇭 Tips 1️⃣ Visa: Cambodia offers visa on arrival 2️⃣ Currency: It's a dollar-based country, and you'll mostly spend dollars. Change will be given in local currency, Riel, at a rate of 1:4000. If you want to use Riel, you can shop at 7-Eleven for a better exchange rate 3️⃣ No need to bring a power adapter 4️⃣ Transportation: Booked a three-day Angkor Wat tour car in advance on OTA platforms, and used local tuk-tuks for other times. You can call a car on Grab and pay online 5️⃣ Safety: On my first night in Siem Reap, I was quite hungry and wandered out to find food around 7 or 8 PM. It felt pretty safe 6️⃣ Best time: If you have more holidays, consider visiting at another time. Cambodia during May Day is extremely hot. If you must visit then, prepare for the heat. Cooling measures are useless; it's all about enduring it. After each site visit, rush back to the car for air conditioning, ice water, and cold towels. Make sure to book a car with air conditioning, not a tuk-tuk! 7️⃣ If you have other questions, feel free to ask in the comments! #UnforgettableAttractions #51Vlog #MayDayTravel #CambodiaTravel #AngkorWatTravelGuide #SiemReapTravelGuide #BeautyOfAngkor #VisaFreeTravel #SoutheastAsiaTravelGuide #OffTheBeatenPath

Tomb raider vibes at Angkor Wat

In October, I visited Siem Reap to spend two days at Angkor Wat, a UNESCO world heritage site. The Tomb raider movies popularised this location, yet it is far more impressive in person. Angkor wat is actually the name of one temple in a huge complex of many other temples. Each was built with its own unique features and charm! #siemreap #cambodia #asia #tripblazers
