We had a wonderful experience at the Mangrove resort mainly thanks to an amazing staff member, JingJing who did absolutely everything to make our stay memorable and whose English was impeccable. We were initially booked in another hotel but it was really not up to our expectations so we decided to cancel our reservation and looked for another place to stay for our 2 week holidays. We visited lots of places but Jingjing really made the difference taking the time to show us around and her very best to meet our requirements. We had a small family villa and a room in the main building for our 2 children the first week (both really really nice) and then we moved to a 3 bedroom villa for the rest of our stay which was amazing. We were greeted every morning by Christina at breakfast, whose English was also really good and who’d seat us down in a quite room and would know exactly what we’d like to drink, eat etc… The only reason why I wouldn’t give the resort a 5 is because some of the pools were closed, there’s no beach restaurant and no pool bar. However, the room service was really good and the food lovely. All the hotel staff are very polite and efficient. A big plus to the hotel is the drugstore in the basement and the proximity to a small shopping mall where there’s a supermarket and various restaurants. As soon as I stepped into the hotel, I was deeply attracted by its simple yet stylish design. The black, white, and gray marble bathroom in the room is a warm little world in winter. My favorite is the shutters next to the bathtub, which open to reveal a full-length window with a sea view. Lying in the steamy water, watching the sunlight sprinkle on the distant sea, it seems as if time begins to slow down. The infinity pool on the third floor is a healing experience. The afternoon sun shines on the water, and the shimmering light seems to have a certain magic, waking people up from their fatigue. I like to sit at the small bar by the pool at night, order a refreshing cocktail, let the sea breeze gently blow, and listen to the whispers of the stars and waves in the distance. That sense of freedom and tranquility makes me want to freeze winter here forever. This island trip also gave me a long-lost sense of relaxation. It's like a quiet pause in a busy life, allowing people to temporarily put down their burdens and simply enjoy the sun and the sea.

Shangri-La’s little Secret
Sanya is swarming with great hotels and tourist attractions and there is a lot of material on the hotels down here. The Shangri-La is no exception. A world Class hotel on Yalong Bay. A great place to vacation and be close to the action. It is nestled inside Yalong bay with the Marriott on one side and the Ritz on the other. 🏊♂️ Make sure to check out pools. As this hotel has some of the better ones. If you walk around them they can be quite hard to navigate with all the curves. But if you keep going right you will find a warm shallow pool for relaxing. The first couple of days were cold and we were really thankful for the hot pool. Along with all the rest of the hotel this hotel has all the world class trappings. #timetotravel When we were in Sanya, we felt like we needed to find a more beautiful beach to swim in. We stayed in Sanya bay and we just couldn't help but explore the other beaches in hunt for a better area to swim. We went to Yalong bay not really because of the beach but because we wanted to experience the underwater submarine to see the marine life and we were surprised while on the way to the submarine we saw how beautiful the beach was and we felt it was the perfect beach to swim in. So after our submarine experience , we stayed for a couple of hours to enjoy the beach. Good thing, we had our swimwear with us! lovely and clean beach, the sand is not the fine but I think it is one of the most decent beaches in China.Yalong Bay has a lot of 5 star resorts as well so you can stay here if you have the budget. Laid Back Sanya Yacht Experience 🛥
A trip to Sanya is never complete without a cool yachting experience. It’s more like saying you’ve been to China 🇨🇳 without visiting the Great Wall of China 😅. Throughout our yacht experience, we were afforded the opportunity to go for Jet skiing, diving and fishing 🎣. The yacht fee included Bluetooth connection (we played our own music , Free flow of drinks 🍹 (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), fruit plater, water activities and a 3 hour ride . The captain and his team were very friendly and kind.
