Stunning Harbour View!
A short getaway staycation at The Magellan Sutera was kinda amazing! The stunning harbour view is just incredible! The swimming pool area one of the best in Malaysia, its huge and can accommodate all the hotel guests. We just spend whole day here enjoying the view and the swimming pool! The rooms is abit old but the beds were very comfortable, if they can renovate abit will be perfect! Don’t miss the sunset harbour view, it’s just unforgettable! Overall very relaxing stay with 5 star harbour view! #staycation

Island hopping in Kota Kinabalu is truly possible! Learn to snorkel!
🏝️ Island Selection Before coming, I looked at some guides, mainly recommending 4 islands: Mermaid Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, and Mamutik Island. The choice was effortless because I only considered the distance It is said that it takes three hours to get to Mermaid Island, which means a six-hour round trip, so I didn't consider it without staying on the island; Sapi Island requires one hour, so two hours for a round trip, and thinking about my seasickness, I gave up. So my choices were narrowed down to Sapi Island and Manukan Island 🌟 Highlights I signed up for a one-day tour of Sapi + Manukan, starting at 8:30 in the morning, gradually filling up a car, about 10 people, and we were the last two. (It turns out that it's only a 10-minute walk from our hotel to Jesselton Point Ferry Terminal. Waiting for the speedboat 🚤 at the terminal, it took 15 minutes to reach Sapi, and the trip included a seafood buffet lunch. (Pretty bad First, we played some water sports at Sapi, and at 1 PM, we moved on to Manukan. There were obviously more fish 🐟 at Manukan, and even my husband, who is usually a landlubber, couldn't resist snorkeling. As for me, lying on the white sand, I was drowsy 😪 and very comfortable, with the ants on the sand being insignificant ☁️ We returned to the terminal around 4:40 PM and went back to the hotel 🏨, changed clothes, and went straight to watch the sunset, which we made in time. PS. 🏨 The Hyatt Regency Kinabalu is very convenient for transportation, just across the street from Suria Sabah Shopping Mall, where you can buy clothes directly if you didn't bring enough - and there are many restaurants worth checking in nearby: oldtown white coffee (everyone should go, just order anything ), Sin Kee Bak Kut Teh (the dry noodles and bak kut teh are really good), and the seafood 🦞 lobsters really need to be garlic-flavored!!!

Rent a bike for one day and explore many places in KK included tamparulli, Tuaran, and sabah university!!! Location: Ranau, Sabah (about 2.5–3 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu) Getting There 🚗⛰️ We took a road trip from Kota Kinabalu and the journey itself was full of green views, winding roads, and chill kampung vibes. You’ll pass small towns like Tamparuli and Ranau—perfect for a quick snack or photo stop. Tip: Drive early to enjoy the cool mountain air! Attractions ♨️🌿 Poring is more than just hot water in a tub—it’s a full-on nature escape! Our favourites: soaking in the warm sulphur hot springs (so good for tired legs!), walking across the rainforest canopy bridge (a little scary but the views were worth it!), and visiting the butterfly garden and Kipungit Waterfall. If you’re lucky, you might even spot the famous Rafflesia flower in bloom! Hotels 🏡🌙 There are great options if you plan to stay overnight! You can book a chalet right inside the Poring area for easy access, or stay at nearby places like J Residence or Kinabalu Pine Resort in Kundasang. Homestays in Ranau also offer cozy stays with mountain views and local charm. Food & Restaurants 🍜☕ Inside the park, there’s a small canteen that serves local dishes like fried rice, noodles, and warm drinks. Simple but satisfying! Around Ranau, you’ll find stalls selling Sabahan goodies like hinava, tuhau, and fresh pineapples. It’s the kind of food that hits different when you’re surrounded by nature. Shopping 🛍️ Outside the entrance, there are cute little stalls selling handmade souvenirs, snacks, keychains, and natural soaps made with hot spring minerals. Great spot to grab something local and support the community. Final Thoughts ❤️ Poring Hot Spring is the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Whether you want to soak in the hot spring, explore the rainforest, or just breathe in the fresh mountain air—it’s all here. A must-visit when you’re in Kundasang or heading back from Kinabalu Park. Bring comfy clothes, an extra towel, and your chill vibes!

Location - Tunku Abdul Rahman National Park, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Attractions - Mamutik Island is one of the smallest and quietest islands of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park approximately 8km off the Kota Kinabalu coast of Sabah. This island stretched out about 200m of white sandy beach in length, which allows every visitor a fair share of space to swim freely without the worries of colliding with each other. A good place to relax by the beach without much disturbance for the entire day😉. Visiting to the Mari-Mari Cultural Village, this is an attraction where you can learn more about the tribes such as blowpipe-making demonstration, fire-starting demonstration using bamboo, tattoo-making demonstration, and get an in-depth look at the mystical symbolisms behind them. Visitors will also get chance to sample Sabahan traditional delicacies from each ethnic group. Highly recommend everyone to go for the package includes with the transportation (round-trip) as the village is located at a remote forest where it is extremely hard to get a taxi or grab. We waited for 1 hour to get a grab to pick us up 🥲🥲. Price: RM 100 + - Opening hour: 10 am session / 2 pm session Rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Quick getaway for Honeymoon (on budget!)
With budget as low as RM350, you've secured a great deal that comes together with free romantic dinner and yummy breakfast for 2! Also, we use our discount ticket at the well-known Mandara Spa, Buy 1 free 1 for all treatment. Indulging and pampering ourselves with the quick escape after our two-days of wedding reception was our best decision ever made. We jumped on the wedding wagon straight to Magellan Sutera Harbour the day after, welcomed with chocholate praline for two, then we head to the dock for our 30-mins sunset cruise. At 6pm, we went to the Mandara Spa and we picked the best time ever to soak in the floral bath! We got to enjoy the sunset view from the jacuzzi. After the spa, we had our romantic dinner at the Alfresco. Then, we had our best time in the huge bath tub in the bed room before sleeping. The two-days experience was amazing, the package is affordable and you can just simply book it on Sutera Harbour website!

#kotakinabalutrip No pork served. Been here three times and F&B quality, service is consistent. Had Garlic Toast and Curry Chicken with Toast + White Coffee (Hot & Cold). Lunchtime would be very crowded to the point that you may have to queue outside entrance door (waiting for available table). Place has AC but can be a little warm during after 2pm-4pm especially when shop is full with crowd, because shop is facing sunset direction. Has ground level & first floor level dining area. Variety of food & beverages offer (see photos). They even offer Dinner Menu which only be available after 6pm. A nice city kopitiam spot for a quick bite but parking is very limited from 8am-4pm daily
