For the paid amount, the hotel was unexpected in terms of the rooms, overall the stay was okay it was a let down seeingthe reviews said that Leonardo Hotel was an amazing Hotel, the room was very average, the bathroom did not add onto our impressions that this was amazing, it looked and smelled old. Paint was chipping off the walls and even a small amount mold was growing in the corners, the shower was small and cramp, the curtain kept sticking to me and it was frankly unpleasant, it just lacked space and just gave off run down vibes, the room had very thin walls and could hear people talking, i say it was a little disapointing from what i was hoping for, the rest of the hotel was great but the rooms were completely different.
the hotel’s location is exceptionally convenient, situated close to major transportation routes, making it easy to travel by public transport or car. The area around the hotel is bustling with a vibrant shopping district, dining, shopping, and entertainment options, greatly facilitating my travel plans.
Excellent service, as always. Good gym facilities and pool. Changing rooms being refurbished but robes are provided instead. Beautiful room - I was upgraded to a suite on this particular stay. Great location, convenient to M3. I stay here regularly and it never disappoints. Also very good value for money.
Service at on reception was polite and helpful.
Room was OK. The lighting was terrible in the room, so much so it was difficult to read in parts of the room. The room was also noisy from the traffic on the busy road outside and the window which looked double glazed did not stop the constant hum of traffic.
The service at breakfast buffet was not good. The hot breakfast was supposed to consist of sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, hash brown and baked beans. However when getting to the service area. all that was left was scrambled eggs and baked beans. Empty servers with no bacon, no sausages, no hash browns. No cups for the coffee or tea and no orange juice as it had run out. No clean knives. Customers kept telling the one person on service everything had run out. Lots of customers standing about waiting for clean cups/knives/food to fill empty servers. The person was unable to cope and brought out some paper cups for the coffee or tea.
This was a good hotel and we have stayed many times but this time., I cannot say we were so happy with the room or service.
We were looking for a place to stay whilst we visited Winchester and decided to go here.
The room was spacious and the air con was lovely on a very hot day.
The bed was lovely and comfortable and was nice and clean.
Will definitely book you again to experience the spa side of things in the future
Nice, comfortable and very friendly hotel. Huge double bed. All rooms are very clean. A car park is very close to the hotel ( walk out of the hotel door, across the road and your in the carpark.
The staff here are exceptional, and nothing is too much for them. They are super friendly and willing to help at every opportunity.
The room was bright and spacious and had everything needed for our short stay as a couple with our furry friend in tow.
The hotel is showing signs of needing some TLC in areas but overall it was nice and comfortable and great at the price point.
At 1st parking appeared to be a pain but after liaising with the awesome staff we were given a permit to park on the street. Bonus!
Overall, I would recommend this hotel and say 4-4.5 out of 5 was a good score.

Very Good
GGuest UserWell, the service at the hotel was excellent too. The hotel staff were always very friendly and helpful, they were always willing to answer my questions and provide useful advice. Also, the breakfast provided by the hotel was very delicious, varied and had different choices every day. The service at the restaurant is also very good, and the staff is always very thoughtful and welcoming.
The only downside is that the hotel is slightly more expensive, but I think the price is still very reasonable given the location and quality of service of the hotel. In short, I really like this hotel and I would definitely choose to stay again if I travel to this city again.
BBobstarrLovely staff and great hotel location for anyone that’s a bit more car centric.
Despite not using the on site facilities as much, the staff were lovely, friendly & helpful at any hour.
The room was spotlessly clean, and had decent basic amenities, but the room I stayed in was starting to look a little tired.
Decent value for money however, especially for the time of the year & a weekend.
GGuest UserNice hotel, warm winter and cool summer, no air conditioning (no air conditioning), the temperature difference between morning and evening is very big, pay attention to the increase of clothes, the town is very warm, it is too expensive to go to London train
GGuest UserCan’t fault a thing, really lovely place to stay with little ones. They really looked after us with special touches, including a stunning play area and bedtime milk and cookies
AAnonymous UserGood location. The room is very basic. Had a triple bunk bed, lower bed was fine, but upper bunk was not clean and had bed bugs. Avoid room with bunk bed. The cards for the door kept not working and I had to go to the reception on multiple occasions to reprogram it. Parking is rather expensive (£12 a day) and I was not told that it is chargeable when registering the plate number at the reception at first.
It was very noisy at night, so don't expect any good sleep if you need to have a window even slightly open at night. I could see rats around the hotel.
I will not be back at Ibis budget.
JJosh SimStayed at the hotel for a stopover. Nice room, good breakfast. It would be great if the health club opens earlier during weekend. It only opens from 8.30am on Saturdays and Sundays. Will definitely visit again.
GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay this weekend. The facilities exceeded our expectations – everything was well-maintained, clean, and thoughtfully designed to make guests feel comfortable and relaxed. The breakfast buffet was a real highlight, offering a wide variety of delicious options to suit every taste. From fresh fruits and pastries to hot dishes and beverages, everything was beautifully presented and replenished regularly. The staff were also incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring our experience was seamless from start to finish. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we’d happily recommend this hotel to others!
GGuest User3 identical rooms booked but only had complimentary items in fridge & robes
Lack of towels
Duty manager Michael was amazing when we struggled to order from limited bar menu
Slow food service & errors with our order
No martini glass available for espresso martini
Lovely rooms, great surroundings
