The room was clean and I was able to stay comfortably.
Although it was a single room, there were two sets of towels, which was convenient. There were also two bottles of water. The ReFa hair dryer was very good. The room was dry, so the humidifier was also very helpful.
I would stay again if I have the opportunity.
Takayama is not a big city, so the hotel location is always going to be an easy 5/5. The hotel is clean, quiet and the onsen bath is great. The hotel also helps to use luggage transporting service which help me to send my luggage to my following destination after a night in Kamikochi. Great place with great amenities so a big recommended for a stay at Takayama.
It was a love hotel, but it was good without such a love hotel feeling.
The room was large enough.
Also, the bath and toilet are separate, and the bed is large
It was good because it was cheap.
Perfect breakfast! Very big room for Japan! Onsen is very comfortable. There’s free ice after hot spring - so cool, especially for kids. And welcome drink is so cute. It's a pity that the piano didn't play. The stuff is speaking English. Thank you very much
I was surprised that there was no parking lot, but there were coin parking lots nearby that cost 250 yen or 300 yen for 24 hours, so it wasn't a problem.
Cleaning is done once a week. There is no breakfast service. Luggage cannot be picked up or stored.
Coin laundry: 300 yen for washing, 100 yen for drying/30 minutes.
Detergent is sold separately for 50 yen at the front desk, but be careful as the front desk is unmanned at night and early in the morning.
Place is exceptional. Cleanliness, showers, toilets all available and really great quality.
Only down side was the distance if the weather was bad. I can't blame them as weather is uncontrollable, but it's pretty tough to be dragging heavy luggages over to and fro in the rain or snow. Else if it was slightly nearer to the food areas, it would have been spectacular, else it's perfect!
Pure self-service remote check-in, convenient and flexible management mode. Although Airbnb is unmanaged, the overall facilities, hygiene, kitchen, lobby and other details are in place, bringing convenience and self-discipline to travelers.
The location is about 12 minutes' walk from the JR station, which is a bit far. It is very close to the morning market, Takayama Jinya, etc. If you are in a room with a river window, you can directly see the morning market, which is very convenient.
Super clean and well organized hostel. The staff are very friendly and the location is fantastic.
The only disadvantage for us was the light which was on all night and forced us to sleep with a sleeping mask.
We booked a double room for the weekend, originally wanting two single beds, but when we placed the order, there was only a room with a small double bed available. When checking in, I asked the hotel if they could provide a room with two single beds, but they initially said no. But in the end they accommodated my request and provided the last room with two single beds that night. Thanks for that.
Excellent location with the best room and cheap price. Close to the station. The room is wide and full furnished with kitchen and laundry machine. The staff are also friendly and helpful.

HHoIrisExcellent location, 5min walk to train/ bus station and convenience store. Like the design of the hotel and there is outdoor and indoor hot springs on 9/F, very chill when soaking in hot spring outdoor in winter time.
Breakfast is 2,800yen per adult and half price for kid. The ambience is super nice and the food is fairly good. The breakfast starts at 6:45am, a good choice for those who need to catch the early bus.
旅旅行小小白I recently enjoyed a fantastic staycation at a hotel featuring a beautiful onsen, and it was exactly what I needed! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a serene atmosphere. The onsen was a highlight of my stay—immersing myself in the soothing hot springs while surrounded by nature was incredibly rejuvenating.
The hotel’s environment is simply stunning, offering a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I took long walks in the nearby gardens, which were beautifully maintained and provided a peaceful backdrop for relaxation.
One thing to note is the parking fee of 1100 yen per night ( from 2pm) , which I found reasonable considering the convenience. Overall, this staycation was a delightful experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy some tranquility. I can’t wait to return for another relaxing getaway!

GGuest UserLOVE this place!!! Room is clean and spacious, the beddings ever so soft and comfortable. They fed us very well during our stay too!!! Love those little deco resembling the grass houses. So cute!! Look at the view we had at breakfast!!!
All staff speak very good English, all extremely attentive and sweet.
They give out free ramen and popsicles for late evening snacks and yogurt drinks around breakfast time too.
Very pleasant stay I must say. Would definitely stay there again if I am in the area.
GGuest UserAn old hotel that retains its grandness..
Although at check in, I was informed there's a charge only if I take the flowery yukata. There are free surprises in the Japanese room every day.
Clean Japanese socks, towels in bags and a different Japanese sweet every day with Japanese tea
My room faces the Hida River, it was beautiful looking out. It is very near the rail line, but it didn't disturb me.
And I suppose all river facing hotels face the same light loving insects. But if you follow the instructions placed in the room, it is alright
雲雲尼王A small hot spring hotel. I really feel the hotel's care. Compared to more prosperous areas, I prefer this kind of remote small hotel. I feel that the hotel wants to do every place carefully. Although the price is cheap, there are many details. Everything is well done. For example, there is a self-service snack and drink area in the lobby, which is available 24 hours a day. Yukata for children is also provided. The hotel rooms are very clean. I wonder if they have been renovated, so the rooms are very new and clean.
GGuest UserMy stay at this hot spring hotel was disappointing, especially in terms of food and service. The dinner experience lacked any semblance of service standards. The food was already placed in the room before we entered, and the waiter merely asked if we lit the fire without offering explanations or providing a menu. They also kept forgetting different cutlery for various dishes, making the experience feel chaotic and unprofessional. The food itself was very ordinary, far below the quality I've experienced at other hot spring hotels.
The private onsen was another letdown, as the water switch was broken, leaving us unable to adjust the temperature or flow. This meant enduring uncomfortably hot water throughout. Breakfast was similarly disappointing—simple and uninspired, offering no surprises or variety. Overall, this hotel fell well short of the standard expected from a hot spring retreat.
SSvetlanaPerfect breakfast! Very big room for Japan! Onsen is very comfortable. There’s free ice after hot spring - so cool, especially for kids. And welcome drink is so cute. It's a pity that the piano didn't play. The stuff is speaking English. Thank you very much
CConstanceThis is the best onsen hotel we’ve stayed in, among those we’ve stayed in for the past 12 years! We stayed here for 2 nights.
We’ve extremely grateful to the hosts for their outstanding service and hospitality from the heart. Loved the thoughtfully varied menu for each meal.
The establishment is spotlessly clean and excellently maintained. Each morning, our towels and yukata (hotel gowns) were replaced. So were the amenities ( fragrant green tea packs, snacks). The housekeeping staff even offered to mop our rooms after only one night’s stay.
The wifi was also fast and sustained well in the guest room and public lounge areas. There are facilities to cater to a wide range of age groups from seniors like us and children too. There were ample resting chairs in the lounge and on the way to the historian’s well as guest rooms.
The best facility was the hot springs! They are
exactly as depicted in the hotel website. Numerous indoor pools of various temperature all have the renowned ‘beautifying’ odorless alkaline water. My skin felt so smooth and moisturized after only one soak.
What’s more the hot springs stay open for in-house guests from 10.30 am to 11 pm and day-trip visitors from 10.30 am to 8 pm. In-house guests can also use the hotsprings early from 6 to 9 am. There is a European dry sauna as well as wet steam rooms in both make and female hotspring areas.
We would love to stay here again!
PParmenova JuliaAwesome ryokan with history! Very convenient to get to the place. The train offers beautiful views of the Hida Valley, mountain rivers and cute villages, this already prepares for a super experience. The purple bus will meet you at the station and take you up the mountain.
The ryokan is huge and consists of several buildings. And even if there are many guests in the ryokan, you will get a really calm and peaceful stay. The rooms are in a traditional style, each one is different from the other. The rooms are spacious and very beautiful. The windows open up to views of the mountains, the forest. The ryokan itself is like a labyrinth, you can wander through the corridors and each time find a treasure: private onsens, billiards, a rest room, a viewing site. I took a room with an onsen inside, and I never regretted it. It was wonderful to sit in my own onsen with a view of the mountains and admire the sunset. An unforgettable experience. The public onsen is also great. There is an indoor bath and an outdoor bath with wonderful decoration. The kaiseki dinner is also great. It is brought to your room. It is very tasty, entertaining and exciting. Each dish is elegantly served, served on the most beautiful tableware, which makes it equal to art. I only regretted one thing, that I did not stay longer. This day in the ryokan Yunoshimakan made my trip to Japan unforgettable! Thank you!
