Amazing hotel, wonderful hospitality and beautiful views. If you’re visiting Danbulla/Sigiriya, I would recommend this place if you’re up for pleasant experience. Special shout-out to one of the staff, tall young chap who works evening shifts (didn’t get his name), aided us with booking a tuk tuk for our early morning trip to sigiriya rock and even checked with us after we came back our trip. Outstanding.

The road to the hotel is too rugged, 5 minutes to open for 5 minutes, the hotel can be said to be the best memory of this trip, specially intended for the New Year, not to look forward to this. The hotel service did not have to say that Ctrip reservations did not include meals, and the hotel included dinner and breakfast. As the New Year's Eve hotel also invited the band to perform, arranged fireworks at 12:00, and presented local specialties for breakfast. Very unforgettable experience. The hotel is surrounded by a tea garden and there is actually a tea picking experience. Since we don’t allow it, we regret it later. In the room you can see Adam Peak, the first peak of Lanka, and there is a temple opposite the hotel.

An exotic hotel. Especially in the drizzly morning, it makes people feel like they have traveled through time. There are golf courses around, holy Buddha statues, and the singing of birds and the fragrance of flowers, which makes people forget to leave. Transportation and shopping are convenient, and you can savor the ancient city. Facilities, services and breakfast are excellent. When in Nuvo, it’s best to come and stay…

A must-stay hotel in Sri Lanka. The pool view is unbeatable and the design is excellent. The whole hotel is built on the mountain. It is very beautiful during the day and at night. It is under the Ambrosial Tower. The breakfast is great. Every service staff in the hotel has a very good attitude and service. They are patient and serious. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed this establishment and were able to enjoy our last moments in Sri Lanka until the end thanks to a late check-out :) All the staff are attentive, accommodating and efficient! The buffet is varied and suitable for several types of palates. The rooms are large, clean and well equipped. The BIG plus of this hotel is the magnificent swimming pool which is at an ideal temperature!

MMuhammad Irsyad Bin ZainiTitle: A Tranquil Oasis in the Heart of Sri Lanka - Amaya Hill Hotel Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the moment I set foot in the enchanting Amaya Hill Hotel in Sri Lanka, I was transported to a realm of unparalleled luxury and serenity. Nestled amidst the lush greenery of the Kandy hills, this hidden gem offers an experience that is nothing short of magical. The first thing that caught my eye was the breathtaking panoramic view of the surrounding mountains and valleys. The hotel's strategic location provides guests with an uninterrupted vista of nature's beauty, creating a sense of peace and tranquility that is hard to find elsewhere. The sight alone is worth the visit. Amaya Hill Hotel effortlessly combines modern elegance with traditional charm. The architecture is a blend of contemporary design and Sri Lankan aesthetics, creating a harmonious atmosphere that resonates throughout the property. The attention to detail is impeccable, from the intricately designed lobby to the thoughtfully decorated rooms. Speaking of rooms, the accommodations at Amaya Hill are nothing short of luxurious. Spacious, well-appointed, and equipped with all the amenities one could desire, the rooms offer a perfect sanctuary for relaxation. The comfortable beds ensure a restful night's sleep, and waking up to the breathtaking sunrise from the large windows is a treat in itself. The hotel's culinary offerings are a true delight for the senses. The restaurants showcase the best of Sri Lankan and international cuisine, prepared with precision and passion. Each dish is a culinary masterpiece, and the attentive staff adds to the overall dining experience. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy a romantic dinner under the stars at one of the outdoor dining venues – an experience that will linger in your memory. One of the standout features of Amaya Hill Hotel is its commitment to wellness and rejuvenation. The spa facilities are world-class, offering a range of treatments that blend ancient healing practices with modern techniques. A dip in the infinity pool, surrounded by the serene landscape, is a perfect way to unwind and soak in the beauty of nature. The attentive and courteous staff at Amaya Hill Hotel deserves special mention. Their genuine warmth and eagerness to make every guest feel at home truly set this establishment apart. The level of service is exemplary, making it clear that the staff is dedicated to ensuring a memorable stay for every guest. In conclusion, Amaya Hill Hotel in Sri Lanka is a true haven for those seeking a blend of luxury, natural beauty, and genuine hospitality. Whether you're a solo traveler, a couple looking for a romantic getaway, or a family in search of a peaceful retreat, Amaya Hill Hotel is an absolute treasure waiting to be discovered. My stay was nothing short of magical, and I eagerly look forward to returning to this paradise in the hills.

GGuest UserThe Good The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture. The Bad The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient. The Ugly Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort. Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.

GGuest UserThis hotel is really beyond our expectations. It was dark when we arrived. The hotel staff greeted us at the door. Everyone was smiling and the service was very good. The hotel is surrounded by forests and has an excellent original environment. The rooms are very large and the hygiene is also very good. Breakfast and dinner are also delicious with different choices. When we woke up in the morning, we could hear the peacocks calling and we saw cute monkeys. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

GGuest UserThe owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely. Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source. The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue. Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat. The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross). The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up. The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good. Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location. Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!

SSHAOPENGThe location of this hotel is a bit hard to find, but it was really unexpected after entering the hotel. The hotel staff is very good, there will be drinks and drinks, the dinner is really good, and then the breakfast will be prepared in advance in the morning. The only downside is that the room is small, but the scenery outside is very good.

MMark RizzutoOur least popular hotel stay in Sri Lanka. We checked in for 4 nights and needed to ask for a room change the following day given the toilet smelt and slowly kept flooding the bathroom floor. That problem clearly pre-existed, but given most people only stay a night, It wasn't something that was high on the hotels priority list to address. The coaches come and go carrying 55-70 year old Europeans and Chinese, and they only stay a night. The level of service at this hotel wasn't a great experience, with reception needing management attention. There were exceptions (pool guy and luggage porter were both lovely). The most frustrating thing about this hotel is that they should be rocking it. It's a great location, nice pool and a good setting, but that's where it stops. The rooms and restaurant are physically tired. Food was pretty average bordering poor despite being plentiful in choice. They had live music playing at night, which was so 'live' that it sent us to sleep early two nights in a row. Great idea, terrible execution, and that is pretty much how we would sum up the place. It's no surprise that the hero promotional shot used by the hotel to market it's hotel is the photo of the view from the swimming póol to Lions Rock. Sadly, that's the only hero experience to be found at this hotel.

GGuest UserRecommended, the location is very good, opposite the Lion Rock, and there are many food and drink options next to the hotel. The lobby decoration is very distinctive, and the room is not big but comfortable and clean. There are not many types of breakfast, but it is a pleasure to sit in the beautiful lobby to eat. And the price matches!

AArabinOne of the best hotels I lived in Sri Lanka, running by a local family. They are very nice and hospitable and even provided very delicious local breakfast with wild honey and welcome coconut water. The room was a quite big with high ceiling, clean and all the stuffs were available. The hotel is in the closest location to climb the rock mountain called Pidurangala to view panorama view of Sigiri and sunrise and sunset and very close to Sigiri Lion Rock as well. The hotel can provide car and jeep services. Jeep safari to see a herd and other wild animals were quite an experience to feel the wilderness and nature. This hotel is 100% recommended when you are in Sigiriya. If you need a car service for city to city travel, here is the service provider, called Danu and his contact number is (0774) 642 805. He is a nice and humble guy with certified local guide. We got his service from Sigiriya to Kandy to Yalla to Colombo, the trip went very smooth and we are happy that we covered all the attractions places with his assistance. Highly recommended!!
