Discover London’s Scenic & Serene Side
#cityplaybook
While London is famous for its landmarks, some of the best experiences come from its quieter, scenic corners — perfect for unwinding while still soaking in the city’s character.
1. St. James’s Park & Buckingham Palace
Start your morning with a stroll through St. James’s Park, one of London’s prettiest green spaces. With its lake, flowerbeds, and view of Buckingham Palace, it's ideal for peaceful walks and birdwatching. If you’re there around 11 a.m., you might even catch the Changing of the Guard ceremony.
2. South Bank Walk
From Westminster Bridge to Tower Bridge, the South Bank is perfect for a riverside walk. You'll pass the London Eye, Tate Modern, and Shakespeare’s Globe, with tons of spots to sit and admire the Thames. Grab a coffee and enjoy the street art and performances along the way — it’s vibrant but not overwhelming.
3. Notting Hill & Portobello Road
In the afternoon, head west to Notting Hill. Famous for pastel townhouses and film scenes, it’s also home to the Portobello Road Market, where you’ll find antiques, fashion, and local eats. The vibe is relaxed, stylish, and very photo-friendly.
London’s public bikes (Santander Cycles) are also a great way to move between parks and riverside paths. For a less touristy experience, these scenic spots let you enjoy London at your own pace while still checking off iconic views.
