The Most Beautiful Café in Vienna: Café Central

If you visit Vienna, you absolutely must stop by Café Central! 🎻 This isn’t just any café—it’s a historic spot that opened its doors in 1876 and represents Vienna’s traditional café culture. With its grand Gothic-style interior, you’ll find yourself thinking, "Ah, this is the true Austrian vibe!" The atmosphere is simply stunning. A Place Frequented by Historical Figures Café Central isn’t just a tourist attraction; it’s also famous for being a favorite spot of historical figures like Friedrich Nietzsche, Sigmund Freud, and Leon Trotsky. Waiting in Line vs. Online Reservations Given its popularity, the wait time can be quite long. I personally waited over 40 minutes… 😭 Standing outside the café, I was silently pleading, "Please, people ahead of me, leave quickly!" But everyone seemed to want to linger and enjoy the ambiance. Thankfully, you can make online reservations via Google Maps, so if you’re planning a visit, I highly recommend booking in advance! Austrian Breakfast (€14.50) Croissant + Bread + Butter + Raspberry Jam + Tea I ordered the Austrian breakfast, and to my surprise, the raspberry jam was absolutely delicious. When I spread it on the bread, I thought, "Wow, this is sexy food!" The croissant was crispy yet soft, making it a perfect light breakfast. Since I don’t drink coffee, I paired it with orange juice, which turned out to be a great combination. Cake (€6.90) Since I was already there, I decided to try a cake as well. Honestly, it was a bit underwhelming—too sweet for my taste. (Apparently, Café Central is more famous for its coffee and ambiance rather than its desserts.) Still, the experience of enjoying dessert in such a magnificent space was worthwhile.
