🥣 Heng Chun Seng – Hyped Broth, Honest Bowl

After watching Mark Wiens rave about Heng Chun Seng in one of his Bangkok food videos, I made it a point to stop by and give it a try myself. The broth? Absolutely lived up to the hype. Rich, deep, and packed with flavor—it’s the kind of soup that makes you want to sip it slowly to savour every note. But beyond the broth, things felt a little more average. The beef balls were decent but similar to those I’ve had elsewhere, and the beef slices were just okay. Then again, for the price point, I wasn’t expecting premium wagyu. There’s also a satay stall right next to the shop, which you might want to check out while you’re there. It adds a nice little side bite to round off the meal. If you’re here for the soup, it won’t disappoint. But if you’re expecting top-tier beef, manage your expectations.
