This massive monument honors the Portuguese explorers who were active during the 15th and 16th centuries. At the forefront stands Prince Henry the Navigator, followed by Vasco da Gama and others. It’s a place where you can truly feel the romance of the "Age of Discovery." Imagining ships setting sail from the western edge of Lisbon to explore the world was awe-inspiring ⛵ ⸻ 🥧【The Birthplace of Egg Tarts: "Pastéis de Belém"】 And then… When you’re here, you absolutely can’t miss the egg tarts! Belém is home to the legendary shop "Pastéis de Belém," the birthplace of egg tarts ✨ Founded in 1837, this shop is always bustling with locals and tourists alike. However, the line moves quickly, so you can get your hands on these treats faster than you’d expect 👌 The crust is crispy, the filling is creamy, and there’s a subtle hint of lemon. Tasting it made me think, "This is the original flavor!" It was truly moving 🥹 ⸻ 🚋【Cable Cars and Cityscapes】 In the city, the sight of yellow retro cable cars slowly climbing the slopes is quintessentially Lisbon ✨ The city’s elevation changes and cobblestone streets create a charming atmosphere that makes it impossible to stop taking photos 📸 ⸻ A day filled with the history of the Age of Discovery, sweet egg tarts, and nostalgic cityscapes.
