It was founded in 1129 by Robert, Earl of Gloucester, as a Benedictine Priory and served as a religious house until the Dissertation of the Monasteries in the 1530 and later became a parish church. suffered damage in World War II, but was restored. Today, it serves as both a place of worship and a community centre providing support services, featuring historical monuments and beautiful stained glass windows. well worth a visit.
