The summer scenery of the Gesang South Route is truly mesmerizing: Snow-capped mountains, glaciers, vast grasslands, blooming flowers, and the charming wooden cabin reminiscent of the movie "Heidi and Grandpa"🎬. This is a must-visit destination that deserves a spot on your bucket list. 🌟Transportation: ✈️ Flights: If you're flying in from other cities, opt for landing at Shuangliu Airport instead of Tianfu Airport (which is much farther from the city center). 🚇 Metro: Take the metro to Chunxi Road to explore Chengdu's unique attractions. 🚗 Driving: Rent or hire a car. The twin lakes are encircled by Potentilla fruticosa and anemones, with naked carp swimming in the waters and meadows stretching out like velvet carpets. 3⃣️ Yilaka Pass Observation Deck: On the downhill section from the pass to Ranrika Village, July boasts the densest primrose blooms along the South Route, set against the backdrop of the knife-edged Mount Kemalung🏔️. 4⃣️ Ranrika Village Wild Hot Springs: Around the village's wild hot springs grow heat-resistant blue gentians. Capture the cool-toned flowers amidst the evening steam while soaking in the hot springs. 5⃣️ Xiazetong Village: The hometown of Ding Zhen features wooden cabins surrounded by iris flower seas💐. On the west slope of the cabins, blue Meconopsis blooms in mid-July. Wear a white long dress👗 and shoot backlit "walking through the flower sea" cinematic scenes. 6⃣️ Lenggu Monastery Hiking Trail: A 5km light hiking trail from Hupiba to the new Lenggu Monastery, with pink bell-shaped primroses densely lining the creek. 7⃣️ Hangda Camp Valley: The camp's riverbanks are home to seven types of alpine wildflowers. You can also camp⛺️ here in the evening to watch the golden glow of the mountains. 🌈 Travel tips: ❶ The Bomi Township-Batang section still has 12km of gravel road (sharp turns and steep slopes). Sedans may scrape the bottom, so a 4WD SUV is essential. ❷ The Gesang Town-Ranrika Village road is only open three times daily (before 7:30 AM, 12:00-2:00 PM, and after 6:30 PM). Missing these times requires detouring via Zhangna Village-Naigando Village. ❸ No gas stations along the route! Fill up your tank⛽️ before departing from Litang. ❹ 90% of the route has no signal. Weak 2G telecom📶 coverage is available in Xiazetong Village, Gesang Eye, and Laozhelongba Pass. ❺ Avoid heading directly to Litang on the first day. Stay in Xinduqiao first to acclimatize and prevent altitude sickness. ❻ Weather warning: Afternoon thunderstorms are inevitable. Avoid crossing Xiyangla Pass after 2:00 PM. Bring a rain jacket and anti-slip chains.
