Just returned from Chongzuo, Guangxi in July – really don't recommend going now, trying to talk everyone out of it~

📍 Where is Chongzuo? A border town in southwestern Guangxi adjacent to Vietnam! Home to Detian Waterfall, Mingshi Pastoral, and Tongling Grand Canyon – fewer crowds, stunning scenery, every shot looks like a National Geographic masterpiece! ------ ✨ Must-visit spots in Chongzuo 1️⃣ Detian Transnational Waterfall ✅ Asia's largest transnational waterfall, half in China, half in Vietnam! ✅ Take a bamboo raft to experience the waterfall up close (remember waterproof phone case!) ✅ Pro tip: Visit in morning! Sunlight on the falls is magical, afternoon backlighting is harsh. 2️⃣ Mingshi Pastoral ✅ Filming location for "Journey of Flower"! Karst mountains + rice fields, cycling here is therapeutic~ ✅ Rent a bike (¥20/day) and cruise pastoral roads – rice paddies, peaks, villages unfold like a painting! 3️⃣ Tongling Grand Canyon ✅ Feels like a journey to the Earth's core! Primeval forest + underground rivers + 188m waterfall ✅ Wear anti-slip shoes! Some trails are damp but perfect for hiking lovers! 4️⃣ Friendship Pass (Pingxiang) ✅ One of China's Top Ten Famous Passes, steeped in history! ✅ Visit the "Zero Kilometer" border marker between China-Vietnam, then shop for Vietnamese coffee and sandals~ ------ 🍜 Local food recommendations • Chicken rice noodles: Vietnamese style, savory broth with tender meat! • Roast suckling pig: Crispy skin, aromatic meat – must-try at night markets! • Suanye: Guangxi-style pickled fruits – green mango + chili salt is addictive! • Vietnamese rice rolls: Super authentic near the border! ------ 🚗 Transportation tips • High-speed rail: Nanning→Chongzuo 1.5hrs (recommend transferring via Nanning) • Self-drive: Attractions are scattered – renting a car is ideal (~¥300/day) • Border checks: Bring ID! Some sites near Vietnam require document inspection. ------ 📌 Important notes ⚠️ Detian Waterfall is most spectacular during wet season (May-Oct) but trails get slippery ⚠️ SUNSCREEN! Guangxi's UV rays are intense ⚠️ Spotty signal at some sites – download offline maps in advance ------ 💬 Real experience: Chongzuo is truly a hidden gem! Even during May Day holidays there were no crowds – landscapes rival Guilin's! Especially recommend staying at Mingshi Pastoral homestays: waking up to fairy-tale views!
