Modern City Gems🏙️

Hong Kong may feel a bit more “mainland” these days, but the city’s classic charm still bangs 🇭🇰👌 These were the key stops that brought the trip to life: insane views, legendary ferries, and a bit of green escape from the urban buzz. Must-See Places: The Peak Tower Sky Terrace 428 (1 Lugard Rd, The Peak, opens 10AM–10PM weekdays, 8AM–10PM weekends, HKD 49 admission). Get up here for those iconic skyline snaps—and definitely pay for the “428” terrace. Tip: Sunday mornings are less crowded and the air’s crisp! The Peak Tower (128 Peak Rd, The Peak, opens 10AM–11PM weekdays and 8AM–11PM weekends). The whole complex is worth a stroll—grab a coffee and watch the city below wake up. Kowloon Walled City Park (Kowloon City, open daily 6:30AM–11PM). This hidden gem mixes wild history with tranquil gardens. Pack light snacks for a picnic among the ruins! Star Ferry Pier (中環民光街中環7號渡輪碼頭, open daily 6:30AM–11:30PM). Riding the Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour is non-negotiable for visitors—cheap, scenic, and gives you real HK feels. It’s hands-down the best transit hack in town. Getting Around: Octopus card makes trams, ferries, and the metro easy. Ferries are the highlight—catch sunset rides for epic photos! Where to Eat & Stay: The Sheraton is solid for comfort and location (easy access to both Kowloon and Central). For food, hit up Wan Chai for street noodles or Tsim Sha Tsui for dim sum. Flying in? Thai Airways was a smooth ride, definitely recommend. Pro Hong Kong tips: English signage everywhere. Weather’s humid—bring light clothes. Most places take cards but cash still rules at small stalls. #hongkongviews #starferry #peak428 #kowloonhiddengem #tripcom

Kowloon Walled City Park

Kowloon Walled City Park is located in Kowloon City, Hong Kong. It perfectly combines the architecture of the former wall with history, and the park still retains a lot of the style of the past, including the brick walls of the old wall, nostalgic alleys and antique Chinese architecture. Walking into the park, you can appreciate up close the well-preserved architectural details such as the dental clinic and the ruins of the Yamen. Every corner is full of rich humanistic colors. Recommended tour: You can enter from the main entrance, spend a little time at the Walled City Exhibition Hall to learn about the history, characters and life stories of Kowloon Walled City, then slowly walk along the stone road in the park to the old government office, dental clinic and other characteristic buildings. Must-do items and photo spots: The dental clinic is definitely a popular photo spot, restored very delicately, the interior furnishings have a nostalgic vibe of the 80s-90s, with the rainy day outside the window, the shooting more story. Don't miss the courtyard, theater pavilion, old well and other locations in the park. Attraction tips: 1. The park opens at 6:30 in the morning and it is recommended to arrive as early as possible to avoid peak crowds and make it easier to enjoy the tranquil atmosphere for photos. 2. Going to the park on a rainy day has another flavor, the photos will come out with a nostalgic hazy feeling, but remember to bring an umbrella or raincoat to prevent rain. 3. The park is not big, 2-3 hours is enough to slowly walk through the key scenic spots, if you want to learn more, you can participate in the park guided activities. 4. Some of the ground in the park is wet and slippery, especially on cloudy and rainy days. Notes: - It is not recommended to go during the afternoon to dusk time on holidays, it will be more crowded and the difficulty of checking in increases. - Some ancient buildings have protection facilities, pay attention to the markings when taking pictures, do not climb or destroy. - There is a Kowloon City Market not far from the park entrance, where you can enjoy authentic food. 🌆 Soaring Above Hong Kong: The Peak & Sky Terrace 428 Catch Hong Kong’s legendary skyline from The Peak, crowned by Sky Terrace 428—the highest viewing deck in the city! For the most magical moments, time your visit to arrive early enough for golden hour and the sunset spectacle (it gets busy fast!). 🏙️✨ Start your adventure by winding up to The Peak. Explore the leafy paths around the summit—the Lugard Road walk is peaceful and offers lesser-known views for quiet snapshots. Step into Peak Tower and head straight to Sky Terrace 428 (1 Lugard Rd, The Peak, HK; admission: HK$49). It's open Mon–Fri 10am–10pm, Sat–Sun 8am–10pm, so plan to get there before sunset, maybe a couple hours ahead. Once on the deck, snap iconic panoramic shots—the Insta-worthy angle is just as the city begins to glow, with Victoria Harbour lighting up below. Must-dos: – Stroll the Peak Circle Walk for lush scenery and unique lookout points. – Pause at the Peak Galleria for local snacks or a cozy café break, especially if you want to avoid Peak Tower crowds. – Take photos facing north, with the skyscraper canyon leading to the harbor, and experiment with sunset silhouettes. Visiting tips: – Weekends at dusk are packed; weekday evenings are slightly quieter. – Dress for the breeze—temperatures up top can drop quickly after sunset. – Buy tickets in advance to skip long lines. Precautions: – Weather shifts fast on the Peak; light layers and a small umbrella are smart. – The best vantage spots fill up quickly before sunset, so arrive early for prime real estate! #HongKong #ThePeak #SkylineViews #SunsetMagic #TravelTips
