Morohashi Museum of Modern Art

Located in Kitashiobara Village, Fukushima Prefecture, the Morohashi Museum of Modern Art was established in 1999 in the scenic Aizu Bandai Highlands of Fukushima, the founder's hometown. Teizo Morohashi (1934–2003), the founder of the sports goods company Xebio Co., Ltd., donated the museum to the foundation with the vision of allowing many people to appreciate and be moved by masterpieces of Western modern art. The building is designed with the concept of a 'medieval stable,' evoking the image of a barn. The museum boasts the fourth-largest collection of Salvador Dalí's works in the world. Outside of Dalí's home country, Spain, it ranks second globally after the United States.
