A Peaceful Hidden Hike in Kyoto – Arashiyama to Takao Nature Trail

If you want to get away from the busy tourist spots in Kyoto, the Tōkai Nature Trail (Arashiyama–Takao section) is a perfect choice. The trail goes through quiet mountains and forests. It’s super peaceful, and I only saw a few people the whole way. The fresh air and sound of the trees made it feel like a dream. I even met a cute cat 🐈 along the way, which made me smile! One part of the hike was a bit scary—there’s a very dark tunnel in the middle of the trail. It was so dark I couldn’t see anything inside! I almost turned back, but I used my phone light to walk through. It felt like something from a ghost story 😱. This hike is calm, beautiful, and a little bit adventurous.
