Potala Palace - Tibet Autonomous Region

Getting there - Book with a tour group to get to Tibet. We used JoyTravel in China and they were wonderful. :) Take a moment to stop and catch your breath, the Potala Palace sits at an elevation of 3700 meters about 12,100 feet. We spent time hiking up and through each room. The many rooms of the palace were exquisite and it was such a treat to learn about the history of each location.
