Pre-trip Preparations - Documents: Bring your ID card, student ID, senior citizen card, and other relevant documents to enjoy ticket discounts. - Clothing: Pack appropriate clothing according to the season. Prepare light and breathable clothing for summer, and also bring a light jacket. For winter, bring down jackets, thick sweaters, scarves, gloves, and other warm clothing. - Other items: Prepare sunscreen, sunglasses, an umbrella or raincoat, and comfortable sports shoes or hiking boots. Transportation Guide - Self-driving: Navigate to the Lushan North Gate or South Gate Visitor Service Center. Book your self-drive access to the mountain in advance on the "Yijiyou Lushan" mini-program. A parking fee of CNY 45 applies. Vehicles with seven or more seats are not allowed to ascend the mountain during May Day, National Day, and summer holidays. - Cable car: Whether you are driving or taking the train, you can choose to ascend the mountain by cable car. Navigate to the cable car's lower station. The round-trip fare is CNY 120 and is valid for 7 days. - Train: Visitors arriving at Jiujiang Station can take bus No. 86 to the Lushan North Gate transfer center. Visitors arriving at Lushan Station can get off at the Lushan South Gate Visitor Service Center or take a taxi directly to their destination. - Hiking: Navigate to Haohanpo at Lianhuadong. Take Jiujiang City bus No. 58 and get off at Lianhuadong. The hike is approximately 9 km long and takes 3–4 hours to reach the summit. Recommended Attractions - West Route: Ruqin Lake has clear water and is surrounded by mountains, creating a picturesque scene. Huajing was once where Bai Juyi wrote poems, and features attractions such as the Bai Sima Huajing stone inscription. Jinxiugu is a 1,500-meter-long high-altitude plank road with attractions such as Tianqiao and the Haoyunshi Cliff. Xianrendong is where Lü Dongbin attained immortality, and the cave contains stone carvings and Buddha statues. - East Route: Meilu Villa is the former residence of Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling, and has also housed leaders of both the Chinese Communist Party and the Kuomintang. The Lushan Conference Site has hosted many important meetings. Hanpokou overlooks Poyang Lake and the Five Old Men Peaks, and is a great place to watch the sunrise. The Five Old Men Peaks are composed of five peaks, each with a different shape when viewed from different angles. - Other: Sandiequan Waterfall has a drop of 155 meters, cascading down in three tiers with magnificent momentum. Bailudong Academy is one of the four great academies of ancient China, with a rich cultural heritage. Recommended Food - Lushan Three Stones Banquet: Includes Lushan stone fish, Lushan stone chicken, and Lushan stone ear. The stone fish has delicious meat, the stone chicken is tasty and meaty, and the stone ear is highly nutritious. - Lushan potatoes: Dishes made with Lushan potatoes are colorful, aromatic, and delicious, with a unique texture. - Jiujiang tea cakes: These crispy and soft cakes come in a variety of flavors, such as original and red bean paste, and are a local specialty.
